We had lunch here on a sunny afternoon. Very good pizza. There were a lot of beach chairs on the lawn, perfect for enjoying a beer in the sun and watching the various buskers performing.

We sat down at half full resturant. Shortly we get the menu, this waiter was opviously busy but still very polite(dark hair glasses). Then we waited for a long time, and finaly call for service, a another w. came and said he was really busy so if we could hurry up and not be asking so much about the menu... More

The food was really tasty and the service was good, but the location was the best! On a sunny day, it's the best place to relax on the sun chairs and eat your pizza! By the river and under the train rails, over looking the museum island, Just perfect!

We were fascinated to discover the story of Ampelman and were delighted to find this restaurant. We only had drinks and the Ampelman beer was not to my liking but the restaurant is in a good spot overlooking the river and buildings of Museum Island. I would imagine it would be a great spot in the summer

I was really skeptical because it looked like a gimmicky restaurant, but was very pleasantly surprised. Seating was comfortable, my partner and I both had pizzas - thin crispy crust, very tasty sauce. Espresso was good, service was efficient and cheerful the day after Christmas. Good spot for a lunch break from Museum island.

Pizzas are awesome, beer is pretty good too. Atmosphere is buzzing on an evening. Well worth a visit but go early to get a seat.

It was a warm evening and our German cousin's son was getting tetchy after a lot of walking. But this was forgotten when we decided to go for dinner at Ampelmann. Service was reasonable and I was soon quaffing a cold beer. I ordered pizza and was not disappointed by the thin crust, full plate salami and chilli pizza that... More

We went here last night because I had a killer craving for margaritas! This restaurant doesn't have margaritas on the menu, but they made three delicious ones for me anyway! I also got a tomato, arugula, and mozzarella salad with balsamico that was very good (although very overpriced!) Everyone else had beer or wine. We sat down at one of... More

On a sunny day, when the sun is out, the trains make this comfortable choogachooga noise in the background and the putput of the noddy-boats, how can you resist sitting in a picnic chair and enjoy a pizza and beer? Yes the whole cafe is a concept store of Ampelmann, their mugs, glasses, sugar, mats, toilets....you name it. But they... More

We don't go to Ampelmann for the food, but it's a very nice place for lunch when the sun is shining in warm weather. They offer a savoury Montepulciano, the pizza and pasta is quite tasty, and the waiters are efficient and very friendly.
