Cracking little spot

Only spent a couple of days in Berlin and visited here twice. A relaxing beer in cool surroundings overlooking museum island. Wish we had similar overlooking banks of Mersey in Liverpool.

The spot is very nice. Near the river. But the pizza was not good: dry, uninspired cooked. As if it came out of the fridge and was warmed up. And the waiters did not pay any attention. Nice spot, but only for a drink

I liked the festival-like feel of this place with deck-chairs facing the river and buskers performing. My partner loved his pepperoni pizza, saying that it was spicy and good. I was less taken with my veggie option, which had a slightly fishy taste that I couldn't quite put my finger on - perhaps it had been cooked on the same... More

Really great place to chill and relax by the river on the sun beds. While siting there you should order drinks at the beach bar and not at the restaurant. But if you want to eat something they want you to sit inside or close to the restaurant (not on sun beds) but then they do not serve beet there.... More

Great place to eat something when you are exploring the Museum Island. Extra plus: as soon as the sun starts to shine, the sun chairs will be put outside. Enjoy the Berlin sun!

On a weekday, friendly staff well served! Meals are huge! When you order omelette -rührei- do not order any other breakfast plate...advisw: order omelette for share and have which breakfast plate you want;) have fun... (The front garden has a view of a park, river and a bridge;))

Title sums it up. 17 Euros for a main course is expensive for Berlin and the portion was ridiculously small. Hoping to enjoy a good meal at least I took my first bite only to immediately drink some water. So much salt you could barely taste the salmon. The funniest/saddest thing was the peach yoghurt though. I am not sure... More

We stopped here for beverages and to warm up and were quite disappointed. The service was slow, inattentive and distracted. When things finally arrived, the hot chocolate was watery and the cappuccino average at best.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
