Pizzas are awesome, beer is pretty good too. Atmosphere is buzzing on an evening. Well worth a visit but go early to get a seat.
It was a warm evening and our German cousin's son was getting tetchy after a lot of walking. But this was forgotten when we decided to go for dinner at Ampelmann. Service was reasonable and I was soon quaffing a cold beer. I ordered pizza and was not disappointed by the thin crust, full plate salami and chilli pizza that... More
We went here last night because I had a killer craving for margaritas! This restaurant doesn't have margaritas on the menu, but they made three delicious ones for me anyway! I also got a tomato, arugula, and mozzarella salad with balsamico that was very good (although very overpriced!) Everyone else had beer or wine. We sat down at one of... More
On a sunny day, when the sun is out, the trains make this comfortable choogachooga noise in the background and the putput of the noddy-boats, how can you resist sitting in a picnic chair and enjoy a pizza and beer? Yes the whole cafe is a concept store of Ampelmann, their mugs, glasses, sugar, mats, toilets....you name it. But they... More
We don't go to Ampelmann for the food, but it's a very nice place for lunch when the sun is shining in warm weather. They offer a savoury Montepulciano, the pizza and pasta is quite tasty, and the waiters are efficient and very friendly.
This place during spring and summer is a must see! Tables and sunnbeds on the grass just next to the river seems to be the best weekend option for brunch/lunch/ or just a glass of wine or coffe. Atmosphere is 100% relaxed.
Great place to eat. Excellent food, super friendly staff and kids more than welcome! Can only recommend this place!
Headed here on a Frommer's recommendation, said it was good for kids. Made a bad assumption about street orientation at the S-bahn stop and headed off on a 20 minute walk in the opposite direction! Not great street lighting and my map was small.... anyway, realized the error, turned around, headed the right way. As mentioned, it's tucked in under... More
There is a nice restaurant with good pizza. It is perfect for the summer in Berlim. You can sit outside and in front of you the Spree while you enjoy a really tasty pizza... I have already tasted the Salami Picante and the Salmon pizzas. They are very good. The portions are big. The ambiance inside is also nice and... More
Stopped off here for a late breakfast / early lunch and opted for the Ampelmann Frustuck for two. A massive platter of italian meats, mozzarella, smoked salmon, shrimps, scrambled egg - more than enough, delicious washed down with a glass of sweet sparkly stuff. And all for 18 euros. The setting overlooking the park and museum island is idyllic, if... More
