Lovely

Great food, great prices. There are more "normal" options on the menu if you want to be a little conservative with your choices but this offers real German cuisine. We tried the raw minced pork with raw onion and a raw egg - an experience to say the least. My partner loved it! A school trip came... read more

restaurant is very very nice and typical German, in the city center of Berlin, right in Alexander Platz. Went the first time 5 years ago and since then every time I go to Berlin I go directly to this restaurant for my dinner. Friendly staff, they do speak English and also have English menus. Food is really good, is prepared... More

Came across this restaurant by accident, but so glad we did. Fantastic German meals - heart warming and filling. We'd wandered around the city looking for somewhere for dinner and didn't fancy fast food - but this restaurant was brilliant. We went back every night and have just had an early dinner here before heading to the airport. The staff... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant as it looked good from the outside. Went in and looked even better on the inside. The menu offers classic German dishes. We didn't have a reservation but at 6pm on a Saturday evening in November, it wasn't a problem. We both had steak meals which were freshly prepared and were extremely nice (see photos). I... More

cozy, intimate. Great food all around, I sampled three dishes and a desert. Can fill up but if you ask to wait you might be seared promptly. Liked it much better than mutter hope which is next door and the service was considerably better. Not expensive.

on our final evening in Berlin we decided to eat a little earlier than normal and walked past this restaurant with plenty of room, the service was excellent and the food couldnt be faulted, we all had a fill of food and liquid for around 30 euros. whilst in there we watched the place fill to the brim and at... This place proves that just because a restaurant is in a "tourist" area, in this case the Nikolai Viertel, doesn't mean that it isn't good (nor does it mean that it IS good). Firstly, the atmosphere was extremely friendly. Waitresses were dressed in dirndls and greeted us with a smile. German style, we ordered an excellent, ample Weinerschnitzel. Since we... More

This restaurant has a great atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. I ordered the schnitzel whilst my boyfriend decided to go for the currywurst. Both were fantastic! I recommend saving room for the apple strudel too. Really good value too, and easy to get to from the underground. Try and visit.

The food was very tasty. We decided to take a Berliner Special. The staff was ok, the atmosphere inside was nice. This is a cosy small place but these are the things I like. Surprisingly the prices are low. I love German food! Will go back. Recommend you!

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
