A little gem

We stumbled across this place as it was near our hotel. Great selection of beers and curry wurst to boot. Busy but nice atmosphere. We'd definitely come back.

This is your local pub as it always should be: Warm, friendly, unsufisticated, nice comfort food and a nice beer. It was very full as I visited it, but as I was alone, I was just seeted with someone already there, so company is included as well, what morfe can you ask for, I will definately come back, should I... I was staying at the Westin around the corner and bumped into this place. Awesome German food and great bartenders. Sit at the bar as it is difficult to get a table. That definitely shows you that the food must be great. Bartender's including Lana were very attentive.

This pub is very popular and, while quite small and quaint, is worth the wait for a table or a seat at the bar. The food is traditional German and very good quality and tasty. Get there early and they will do their best to get you a table, even if you have to share with locals, which can be... More

Great atmosphere, good traditional comfort food, friendly staff. There were several German people there which reassured us the pub was authentic.

I found this pub near my hotel and was drawn in by the chalkboard out front that listed a number of beers that I wanted to try. Although, once I had the Paulaner Dunkel, that was my only choice. Just a superb brew. But, they do have a menu of about four beers on tap (a couple of pils("blondes" as... More

We found this cozy spot through TripAdvisor. The atmosphere is a result of a mix between locals and tourists. They serve traditional German food and Berlin gastronomy. We have tasted the Butcher Plate, a combination of Blutwurst (blood sausage) and Leberwurst (liver sausage), with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut, and a very good beer. The Butcher plate was very well cooked.... More

To echo what other reviewers have said this really is a hidden gem, a lovely little place. Very authentic, full of delicious German food. Excellent service and good atmosphere. I would possibly recommend booking, we went on a Saturday evening having pre booked and I'm glad we did as all the tables were full. Will definitely be returning next time... More

Stumbled upon this place by complete accident, and so glad to have done so. This gem of a place is tucked just off Friedrichstrasse. Blink and you would miss it, but it is a must. They serve beautiful traditional german meals, we had a sharer plate to start that compiled of sausage, currywurst, fried meatball, bread and gherkins. This dish... More

We found this restaurant/bar based on Tripadvisor recommendations. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the bar has a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar itself is quite small and there are not that many tables so I would advise booking ahead. It serves mainly traditional German food. It was a great place for... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
