Excellent place for dinner or breakfast. Old style true German cooking, must try it. In the evening it gets quite full, but for breakfast it's nice and quiet so you can really enjoy the peace and admire the place itself. Second best dinner I had in Berlin. Highly recommended.

Nice place. Seems old. Cozy atmosphere. Professional waiters. Almost everything on the menu is pork products. I had the fried fish with almonds. It was good but swimming in butter. My wife had the Herring and a large soup. She says it was average. With two beers it cost 35€ not including the tip.

In a city like Berlin you can take your pick of international cuisines, but we wanted something authentically German so followed some Trip Advisor recommendations to this place and loved it. The bar area was busy, mainly with locals, and the restaurant area soon filled up, despite us arriving just before 7.00pm. The menu offered a wide selection of German... More

Lovely bar/restaurant with a good selection of traditional German food and beer. The atmosphere is friendly and prices reasonable.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The menu is full of hearty dishes at very low prices. I ordered the pork knuckle - the meat was super tender. Very enjoyable experience- great if you are alone and if you don't speak German!

Excellent food! Perfect service and really good prices. Certainly well worthy to visit! I order turkey stripes with curry sauce and exotic fruits with basmati rice. Delicious and very well cooked! Also large mixed salad is good. In addition pork fillet with mushrooms is perfect! The plates are really big and difficult to be finished! I will certainly visit it... More

Read the positive comments about this restaurant and since I was staying at H10 hotel which is located at the next block, so I decided to give a try! I'm very satisfied with the service and the food. The gentleman with a ponytail served me, he recommended the boiled knuckle instead of the world famous roasted one to me. Although... More

My wife who has a German heritage wanted a genuine food experience. After we found the venue after much asking about the U-Bahn connections and address we were seated promptly. The restaurant is decorated with many scenes of everyday life. There are several rooms connected and the place is bigger than at first glance. My wife liked her generously poured... More

Very homely place with warm decor and atmosphere. Menu is traditional German fare, currywurst, Schnitzel, pork in different styles, bratwurst etc. Excellent selection of beers, of course, since this is sort of beer house. We had currywurst with fries (excellent), Berlin platter (very, very good and huge portion) and liver with smashed potatoes, onions and apple (this was nice surprise... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
