Delicious German Cuisine at Fair Prices

Was in Berlin on vacation and wanted original German food. Stumbled upon this restaurant and was extremely impressed. Staff was very friendly, and spoke English, and had English menus. All typical German/Austrian food is available, and the prices were very fair. I enjoyed the bratwurst which came... read more

Yesterday was another full day in Berlin and on arriving back at the hotel we asked for a good German restaurant close by. We were not disappointed at all great roast pork and bratwurst with very friendly service and great beer. You will not be disappointed at all

Wehad been visiting the war memorial KAISER WILHELM CHURCH and were just having a look round the area when we chanced on this superb pub. We sat outside as it was a roasting hot day and ordered a beer we really enjoy, namely KOSTRITZER SCHWARZBIER a nice dark beer that when served in perfect condition is a wonderfully refreshing beer. The... More

Were here in mid-aspargus season and had a really nice time. Good service and excellent food. Will come here again for sure.

Restaurant recommended by our hotel receptionist and it did not disappoint. We had the Weinerschnitzel with salad and fries. Portions were large and I struggled to finish. Excellent service and friendly waiter. We returned for breakfast one morning which was equally as good.

this is a great german restaurant, just off the Ku'damm. Meineke Strasse is roughly opposite the Apple store and the food and service are both good and high quality predictably well executed German meals. Meineke Strasse has something for everyone and interesting history. This is a great choice when you're very hungry and want good food.

The first place me and my partner ate in in Berlin...and arguably the best! The service was great, and the food excellent, and it was inexpensive too. Lovely traditional German fare. There is the added bonus of the super cute dog, Charlie. I was tempted to take him home with me. :)

We arrived on a busy Saturday evening, and sat at the bar. We were served by the lady at the bar, who was very forgiving of our faltering german (and of course spoke english, but where's the fun in that?). Casual atmosphere, friendly dog wandering around. The service was very prompt, but we also felt comfortable lingering with beers after... More

Excellent food, wine, beer and Frank the host. We found this delightful gasthaus on a Saturday evening- it did not disappoint in any aspect. There were groups, families and couples, the food was plentiful, delicious and traditional, the beer local and there was sauv blanc, on a par with NZ. Frank was a warm wonderful 'mein host' who looked after... More

We rediscovered this restaurant this year , unfortunately on our last night! Otherwise we would have dined every night. Its cosy , or gemütlich as the Germans themselves say. The tables are comfortable and well spaced. There are two big rooms, quirkily decorated. But you will not concentrate on the decor as the food is wonderful, very fairly priced and... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
