Wonderful

Excellent food, wine, beer and Frank the host. We found this delightful gasthaus on a Saturday evening- it did not disappoint in any aspect. There were groups, families and couples, the food was plentiful, delicious and traditional, the beer local and there was sauv blanc, on a par with NZ. Frank... read more

We rediscovered this restaurant this year , unfortunately on our last night! Otherwise we would have dined every night. Its cosy , or gemütlich as the Germans themselves say. The tables are comfortable and well spaced. There are two big rooms, quirkily decorated. But you will not concentrate on the decor as the food is wonderful, very fairly priced and... More

Lovely place. Very traditional with lots of old berlin pictures and paintings. Friendly service and English menus. Lots of well cooked lamb and pork dishes as well as soups and great apfelstrudel! If you are in Berlin and want to eat as the locals do then come here. You won't be disappointed.

Not really sure what a German restaurant is supposed to be like since we are from US... but this place was great and had some of the german food we wanted to try (german ravioli). Service was very friendly.

We found this through or hotel porter, it was just 2 minutes walk from our hotel, (Berlin Mark Hotel). We ate here the first night and went back the next night because we liked it so much. Very clean and German, with very friendly staff.

I've visited twice Gasthaus Krombach and both times felt that the reviews here are not on par with its food. The restaurant layout, the internal decoration, and the staff attire is contributing to a feeling of authentic, old-style Berlin Gasthaus. Very fast and friendly service also a plus. The food however is completely average in my opinion, with the only... More

Early dinner with colleagues, during a business trip of mine. Very tasteful - proper cooked German Food! A great Pub - Resto with amazing wine and beer list! Ask the staff what would they make for you if you were visitors @ their own home and go for it blindly! All plates just fab and prices more than descent in... More

We went here for breakfast on the final mironing of our stay. There was no one else in on arrival but the place had only just opened. We went for the gasthaus kry back breakfast for 2 which came with sausage, salami, cheeses, fruits, scrambled egg, warmed croissants and bread, orange juice and sparking wine. It is safe to say... The location is good, a couple of meters away from Ku'damm. Went there on a weekday evening around 20.00, there were a couple of tables available. The interior looks a bit like an Art Deco pub. Took some herrings as starters. The fish was really nice, though the sauce on the side was a bit heavy (left most of it).... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
