Hidden in a little street behind KaDeWe (5 minutes walk) is this excellent french restaurant. The food is marvelous, the manager is very friendly and nice and tries to make everything happen which is really important for me as I have a food allergy. Good wines and not expensive. - Just: if you are looking for a hip place this... More

A very nice restaurant, in the Schoneberg neighborhood. It's well decorated, above average service and the food is high quality. it's a date night sort of place where you should linger over the meal.

Preliminary remark: I cannot comment on the quality of the food, I wasn’t able to experience the dinner eventually. Here the facts: I arrived at the restaurant, correctly dressed, and asked for a table for one in an absolutely friendly tone. I noticed immediately that the waiter did not seem to be very pleased or perhaps a bit overwhelmed by... More

My friend and I visited Berlin and stayed right near this amazing bar. Bruno served us on each of our multiple visits and was absolutely delightful. He not only makes amazing drinks (best Espresso Martini I've ever had), but also brings such life and light to the place. The looks quite posh but is very comfy/cozy and with no pretension.... More

Just a couple of blocks behind Ka De We, you find this very french restaurant with an excellent open air part where I had the privilege to enjoy white asparagus and ham from Schwartzwaldt. In my mind this is a place for summer; the restaurant itself is too tiny, but they do have a well stocked bar next door, which... More

Since we've had enjoyed burgers, fries and so on, we decided to enjoy a proper dinner. Well, Café des Artistes is definately the place to go to. The restaurant is not really big, so be sure to make a reservation. Soft music is played, staff is very polite and friendly. On your way to the toilet you can enjoy all... More

We went for a drink and looked through the extensive menus to make our choices, however the bartender gave us a suggestion of an Apple Cosmo as he thought we would like to give it a try. One of the best cocktails I have tried, with fantastic service.

If you want to have a nice candle light dinner or just want to sit on your own and eat by yourself with a book then this is the perfect place for you. 5 minutes walking distance from KaDeWe in a very quiet street. Next door is a wine bar where you can smoke and buy cigars and they have... More

Saturday evening dinner on an ordinary March day. We found that by accident when looking for an evening meal near our guesthouse. We were almost alone on Saturday night in Berlin!, that is at least a slightly alarming signal. To the meal itself. Everything from the aperitif, appetizers and main course to the dessert were very nice looking but tasting... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
