great ice cream!

It loses a star because it is expensive (8 euros for a waffle and 2 scoops of ice cream), however said waffle and ice cream were delicious. I had salted caramel and macadamia brittle- the salted caramel was divine. The coffee was good, but literally half the glass was foam as you can see in the... read more

The haagen dasz was really good right on the square, service was perfect they spoke english and explained the menu just like anywhere else there. Fantastic variety of desserts and ice cream desserts and drinks. Price to sit in was very expensive 8 euro+ for ice cream taking to go is a bit cheaper. But great desserts non the less.

Me and my sister were in Berlin this last weekend when we decided to grab a Milkshake at Haagen-Dasz Berlin. We walked in, staff seeming to be stressed out (it wasn't busy or anything) took our order, asking if it was "drink in or take away" at which point i said "take away please". When the Milkshake was ready, a... More

This Haagan Dasz was fantastic, right on the square and around the corner from our hotel Adina. The variety was fantastic and the Ice cream was to die for, we grabbed desserts here many nights, favoring take out as the price to sit and eat was too high. Take it to go for the best prices.

This place is part of the Hackescher Markt courtyard so if you want dessert have it here, I give the desserts a 10 out of 10. They are great, also very good service, they understand English like most places in this area and explain the menu.

The service was one of the worst experiences we ever had. We waited 10 min to order. After order we waited 20 min. And when we asked they haven't got it into their system. They told us that it would take another 10 min. to process the order via the kitchen. After 10 min we got the ice - but... More

Granted, they are expensive, but they are also the best. Some of the independent shops comes close, but in the end this chain really wins, unfortunately. Ice cream with chocolate fondue, or some of their many great tastes in standalone mode, you simply can not go wrong with Häagen-Dazs

We all agree the ice cream is great, but I find it to be very expensive. Even if it is special, you can find similar (often independant) shops with similar whacky/experimental/special/lovely tastes. But we knew what we were getting into. What we didn't know, was the average service. They mixed up our orders (wrong toppings, wrong tastes) even though we... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
