Delicious Meal of Appetizers

I have eaten here frequently when in the area, and love this little place. Wonderfully decorated (laid-back rustic / trendy interior), I particularly loved the fact that the table sets consist of construction paper and you get crayons to draw on them. Great atmosphere- On all occasions I have... read more

A very good, value for money bar/restaurant. The service we received was outstanding, as it was attentive, friendly and cheerful. Well done. The menu was varied (do not equate the burgers with the normal fast food stuff - nothing could be further from the reality). The food was quickly prepared, well cooked and tasty. A fine evening after a long... More

I happened to be staying with friends nearby, and they recommended this place. It's got a bit of hipster about it. Old rustic building, old wallpaper etc. It was very popular, we didn't book, and we were quite lucky to get seats. The breakfast buffet is quite substantial, plenty of cold and hot food, fruits, tea and coffee, juice etc.... More

Wonderfully decorated (laid-back rustic / trendy interior), I particularly loved the fact that the table sets consist of construction paper and you get crayons to draw on them. Great atmosphere- On all occasions I have chosen from their appetizers-as-a-main course menu, and have rarely been disappointed.... More

I came here with friends for the New Year's Eve set menu and we were very impressed. Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian options were excellent: full of flavour and not over-filling. The service was also very good - attentive without being overbearing and all the servers spoke good English. The atmosphere was also wonderful and after the meal was over... More

Probier Mahl (Just try a meal)-loosely translated. The layout of this "back to school" neighborhood find is rustic & trendy. The table is layed out with Crayola crayons and construction paper in addition to silverware, peppermill, a Grosch-style bottle as a flower vase and a pillar candle on the table. What really stands out about the decor are the lighting... More

The food was delicious, and nicely presented. Atmosphere and decor very inviting....a hidden gem of a restaurant in the Alt Moabit area. Burgers are very good, and if you want to sample a few different things, try the tapas: You can chose a number of items from their list, to suit your taste. The green apple tart with apple sorbet... This was a real find down a side street in Berlin. Sitting outside the restaurant on the sidewalk for sundowners and good food. The staff were very accommodating to move tables around as we arrived in a group of 20 with no booking.

A good place to hangout and eat. A little bit expensive compared to the quantity of the food but still a good experience.

Lovely place for locals, often full in the evenings so making a reservation in advance could be useful. Try their cocktails and check out burgers, some combinations are very creative. Service is very friendly and atmosphere is warm and cosy, you would often see there families dinning out. Tables are covered with paper and there is a set of crayons... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
