Great food,

A cosy interior, they also have a lounge area. During the summer you can sit outside. For starters you can combine 3 or 6 items from a list of inventive tapas (not necessarily Spanish ones). Main courses are offered both as a smaller and as a full version. They also do a variety of good burgers... read more

We remember when this was Nola (over 10 years ago!), so were curious to try out Probiermahl with friends. Pleasant terrace seating on this quiet corner, we started off outside but moved inside for the main course as they cannot serve the terrace after 10pm. Tapas selection for the starter was pretty good, albeit on the small side - we... More

Good for veggie options - tapas, salad and burgers. Polite and efficient service. Have menus in English.

Excellent food and service - very patient with my dodgy german! Not a lot of choice for veggies but what they do have is delicious. Highly recommend the burger!

A very good, value for money bar/restaurant. The service we received was outstanding, as it was attentive, friendly and cheerful. Well done. The menu was varied (do not equate the burgers with the normal fast food stuff - nothing could be further from the reality). The food was quickly prepared, well cooked and tasty. A fine evening after a long... More

I happened to be staying with friends nearby, and they recommended this place. It's got a bit of hipster about it. Old rustic building, old wallpaper etc. It was very popular, we didn't book, and we were quite lucky to get seats. The breakfast buffet is quite substantial, plenty of cold and hot food, fruits, tea and coffee, juice etc.... More

I have eaten here frequently when in the area, and love this little place. Wonderfully decorated (laid-back rustic / trendy interior), I particularly loved the fact that the table sets consist of construction paper and you get crayons to draw on them. Great atmosphere- On all occasions I have chosen from their appetizers-as-a-main course menu, and have rarely been disappointed.... More

I came here with friends for the New Year's Eve set menu and we were very impressed. Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian options were excellent: full of flavour and not over-filling. The service was also very good - attentive without being overbearing and all the servers spoke good English. The atmosphere was also wonderful and after the meal was over... More

Probier Mahl (Just try a meal)-loosely translated. The layout of this "back to school" neighborhood find is rustic & trendy. The table is layed out with Crayola crayons and construction paper in addition to silverware, peppermill, a Grosch-style bottle as a flower vase and a pillar candle on the table. What really stands out about the decor are the lighting... More

The food was delicious, and nicely presented. Atmosphere and decor very inviting....a hidden gem of a restaurant in the Alt Moabit area. Burgers are very good, and if you want to sample a few different things, try the tapas: You can chose a number of items from their list, to suit your taste. The green apple tart with apple sorbet... Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
