Stunning Food and Excellent Service

A quiet restaurant just off the main street. When we went there was a queue a mile long outside Hard Rock, but in Zum Patzenhofer, it was lovely and quiet. Service was superb, and they do concentrate on the service aspect. Food was excellent - really tasty. Their Goulash was utterly superb. Beer... read more

Good Ambiance. Great beer selection. Authentic German fare. Accommodating servers. Not busy, which allowed for good, personalized service experience. Highly recommended !

I choose this restaurant on the basis of TA reviews and found it very disappointing. The salad was served with a heavy yoghurt sauce which was simply vile. The steaks and schnitzels were pretty tasteless and drowned in sauces, presumably intended to make up for the lack of flavour. The only part of the meal which was good was the... More

We found this restaurant on our first night in Berlin, it was just what we hoped to find as when we are in a different country we like to eat in local restaurants like this one, we came across it by accident we were just about to give up & just go anywhere to eat but I'm glad we didn't.... More

Warm, traditional German eating house serving wide ranging menu of delicious, traditional fare at incredibly low prices. Good wine list complements good sized portions of very well prepared, fresh produce. Complimentary fresh salad as a starter was followed by a warm prawn salad and chicken fricassee. The steaks looked very good also. Recommended.

This place was on the same street as our hotel and seemed to be mostly frequented by Germans. Most of the menu is translated into English so we were able to order OK. The food was fresh and hearty, and there was a good range of interesting beer. Very good value for money we thought. Only complaint was the same... More

We love this place. It's our first meal every visit to Berlin. We are travel agents and bring our small groups along. Everyone is always thrilled and pleases by not only the delicious food, but the friendly service and cozy atmosphere

We've had dinner here every night for the last 4 days and every time it was great. Delicious Schnitzel, Wildschweinbraten, Smorbraten with Klössen, baked patatoes or fries. It doesn't matter what you choose, it's a winner every time. You can also have real Berlin Eisbein (Pork knukkle] oder Blutwurst (black pudding) und liver. If I would live here I would... More

I was spent by a busy day of sight seeing and I headed back to my hotel (Berlin Plaza Hotel), which was located in the Kurfuerstendamm district. I refreshed in my hotel room and then set out on foot in the area to look for dinner. The area has an abundance of Italian restaurants but I was not feeling like... More

My wife was satisfied with her choice of Gordon bleu, while my Tagliatelle with creamy cantarells was not at all al dente. The waitress was of the old fashioned sort, when clients were there for her need. The restaurant honours credit-cards at least according to the stickers on the front door. When paying, you are told they do not accept... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
