The place to go for a good Schnitzel. The name of the restaurant says it all. There is a really good choice of Schnitzel. The restaurant also caters for vegetarians with a parmesan risotto Schnitzel. The good traditional Austrian fare goes down well with the general public. Start off your meal with a selection of starters offering all kinds of delicacies. The staff are great. So too are the rectangular lamps on the walls which are even used as candleholders. The wine selection is very good.

Still good on our second visit

We first went here for Christmas lunch last year which was a great experience. The place looked a trifle bare without the Christmas decorations! But we still had a good meal. We realise now that this place is quite pricey by Berlin standards, and it is not haute cuisine. But the place is fun... read more

A local friend suggested we go here - she raved about it. Not being a big fan of bread-y deep fried meat and heavy food and gluten free generally speaking, I was hesitant (as a person with dietary restrictions, it's very hard to find places that offer entree sized salads here in Germany, alas) but I went for it anyway.... Exceptional food, super nice waitstaff (fluent in English) and great views of a side canal of the Spree river. I loved their tapas approach to German traditional dishes allowing us to try everything without having to commit to only one dish. Their schnitzels melt in your mouth and the portions are huge (consider sharing)

I fun very busy..you must book restaurant. You get a free small welcome beer and bread immediately on arrival. First course German tapas was wonderful. Snitzels are huge. Service is excellent and location is on the bank of a river. Dessert can be 4 bite size puddings. 54 euros for a brilliant meal for 2 do it!

In the mood for Schnitzel one afternoon we headed over to Schnitzelei to see what they had to offer. We each got a (huge) Wienerschnitzel, various forms of potatoes and the cucumber salad. All very good. An appetizer of prunes wrapped in bacon was a particularly good starter. A couple half-liters of house white and rosé rounded out the meal.... More

I'm so happy I found this place! I just wish I'd gone there before my last night in Berlin so I could go more than once. (I'm jealous that my friends working there can go more.) I wanted traditional German food but the temptation of trying a modern twist on the cuisine in the form of tapas was perfect. I... More

We visited here on a business trip. Complimentary beer on arrival. Great wine list - had lovely Austrian white. German tapas to start followed by one of the best schnitzels ever. Friendly staff.

Booked online via the restaurants website. It was very easy to use and more importantly they were expecting us and had our table ready when we arrived. The restaurant is in one of the suburbs and was easy to find via taxi. It was very busy when we arrived at 7pm. We were served free beers on arrival. All the... More

We were in Berlin 8 years ago and then walked in to a local restaurant and had good Wiener schnitzel. This time my son goggled a restaurant which had raving reviews for their Schnitzel courses on internet. I booked a table online and we spent some 30 minutes walking there from Kurfurstendam area. But it was well worth it. Restaurant... More

This restaurant has a great menu, and is not just limited to schnitzel choices. I enjoyed veal cooked with parma ham and sage, while my other half opted for lamb. The meat was tender and flavoursome, with tasty side dishes. It's a shame we were too full for starters, as we saw some other diners having the German tapas selection,... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
