Description: The place to go for a good Schnitzel. The name of the restaurant says it all. There is a really good choice of Schnitzel. The restaurant also caters for vegetarians with a parmesan risotto Schnitzel. The good traditional Austrian fare goes down well with the general public. Start off your meal with a selection of starters offering all kinds of delicacies. The staff are great. So too are the rectangular lamps on the walls which are even used as candleholders. The wine selection is very good.

After finding Schnitzelei in a lovely, quiet tree lined location right on the river Spee, well off the tourist areas, we were excited to try tapas in Berlin. The food was good but not great and prices were fair enough, about 10 euro for six tastes. Service was friendly and they seemed genuinely happy to have tourists; the restaurant was... More

I am a meat LOVER... and I can tell... this was DELICIOUS! Very happy we went there. Listen, you need to reserve. This is not in the centre-centre of Berlin, and it's however very famous. We were seated in the back saloon. In the other 2 tables were having companies xmas dinners, and in the front saloon, just the normal... More

Very friendly, noisy, bistro-style restaurant. Short menu but the Schnitzel and the weiss beer were delicious

I am a long time fan of the Schnitzelei, but on my recent visit I must say I was a bit disappointed. This had mainly to do with the meat-to-crust ratio, where the very thin and crispy crust (just the way it should be) covered a meat slice which was half the thickness of the crust. this was very disappointing,... We went for a late dinner with our 3 year old. Were seated promptly but ended up getting our own menus as the wait staff were very busy. After that, no complaints on the service. They brought complimentary taster beers for us and apple juice for our kid, and the food came super quick. The 9Euro Monday Wiener Schnitzel was... More

This lovely place offers great schnitzels complimented by delicious side dishes. Staff are extremely kind and attentive. Vegetarians: do not despair, there are veggie schnitzels :). In summer it truly is a gem when you can sit at the water. However, do note that is kind of out of the way. That said: do not just pitch up, this place... More

not a true Wiener schnitzel .... Go to Ottenthal for a proper one! veal was wafer thin and more breadcrumbs than anything! Both our mains were very disaapointing. however service good, reasonable prices ... Tasty starters that were good but schnitzels were a massive disappointment and I would not go back.

It wasn't too crowded when we went on a Sunday evening in October. I appreciated the ambiance (candlelit). Don't be shy about asking for the English menu if they hand you a German one initially. Vegetarians are safe here and have a few options. In addition to the free glass of beer when you arrive, we were given a shot... More

Saw the restaurant on a bike ride along the river and was packed. Later got another recommendation from a local to check it out and glad we did! On seating you share a beer with the host on the house. Then we ordered the up-to 9 appetizer flight was fantastic (only 15 euros too) with the smoked trout, currywurst and... More

I've been here twice now, once for New Year's Eve in 2009/2010 and more recently in June 2012. IT's a very busy restaurant in Charlottenberg. I recommend booking as all the tables were reserved when we visited! The restaurant has a warm buzzing atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. On arrival we received a free beer each, which went... More
