Cheap and inexplicably tasty kebab - must visit

A small unassuming food stall right outside the station. It is the best kebab we've ever had. It was a 2 hour wait but it was delicious and I'd return to berlin just to eat this!

I had a pleasure to stand in a long line. Getting closer and closer to the stand I was getting more and more hungry. I ate kebab with not hiding joy. Kebab taste was delicious and unique - I thought at that time. However maybe this is becasue of the time I had to spend in the queue? ;) Anyway,... More

Just outside the metro, you will see dozens of people standing in a queue. This is the one signal you are in the right place. Usually you just wait a bit to be served because of the many people going there but the result will be a kebab you can not even imagine.

Again, this place is only for people with tons of patience. The minimum waiting time is 1.5 to 2 hrs to get your hands on this gorgeous packet of pure temptation. The kebap, fried veggies and the sauces used here is really a magic combo... It smells and tastes soooooo good! And the vegetarian crowd are in for a treat... More

Definitely a very good döner kebab. The line waiting was worthed! They should open up a real place, actually maybe just seed things up by hiring more people cause we waited for a kebab 1 hour and a half! Very very good though.

The food here is amazing. You can have either chicken or veg kebab. I had the chicken one. The sauses and salads they put in there are so good. If you go after opening around 10am there isn't much of a que. Went to other places for kebabs that were meant to be as good but they weren't. One of... More

There are no words to explain how delicious this kebab is. The queues at times can seem like an eternity but this honestly is the best doner kebab I have ever tasted. The feta cheese is the icing on the cake and the staff are friendly!

Waited until 11pm to beat the queue. Still lined up for 40 mins but geez it was worth it! I Berlin you can drink in the streets so grab a beer, join the line and be prepared for your mind to be blown!

As Turks from Istanbul, we wanted to try Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap. It was quite delicious, however the doner made us thirsty during the all day due its heavy fat (especially the fried vegetables) The line, as everyone says, is long but you can enjoy a beer while waiting. However, it may be very painful during the Winter or rainy days.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
