Great food and service

We were a group of eight without prebooking. Needed to wait awhile but were offered free drinks and snacks. Pizzas were lovely and service fast and good.

Went here with over 80 colleagues, decent meal, no fuzz, nothing fancy, just good simple food. Pizza's are actually quite tasty!

A friend of mine, a Berlin local, suggested this restaurant when I needed to organize a dinner for 25 people. It was within walking distance of our conference venue, took reservations, and was happy to bill people individually, so we went. Occupying one of the many storefronts that are built into the substructure of the S-Bahn, the place feels like... More

We were there several times. There are always many people there, families as well as couples, The pizzas are freshly made, actually there are 12 different ones on the menue. However you can easily modify them if you like. There is even a vegan version available. The noodle dishes are excellent as well. The rooms are nicely decorated.

We had dinner here with friends and colleagues during a visit to Berlin to attend a conference (see other restaurant, hotel, and attraction reviews). The speciality of 12 Apostel, which is conveniently located on Georgenstraße between Friedrichstraße station and the Museum Island, is a dozen varieties of pizza, each named for one of the apostles. The pizzas are delicious: thin... More

First night in Berlin I thought we had entered a typical European tourist trap, however I was wrong, admittedly everyone is packed in but it was definitely value for money. We purchased two huge cartwheel sized pizza with pretty much everything on except seafood as we all had specific tastes. I've no idea how much we spent but it wasn't... More

A very nice option, especially if you are a big table. Ideally located in a busy district (university, museums) and widely frequented by locals who flock here for their pizzas (the rest of the menu is less impressives). The pizzas are really well made, and they are huge (more Argentinian or US-size), although not orthodox from the Italian point of... More

This very fancy restaurant is definetily a hidden gem in Berlin. The pizzas are great and while the S-bahn trains run over you you can enjoy a good wine and look at the beautiful building. Not so suitable for a romantic diner but highly attractive for groups.

This is a spatious restaurant located just below the railway. Although not pricey, the food was really disappointing and not really authentic. First, the pizzas available in the menu are not the standard pizzas available in Italy. The ingredients have been modified according to the German taste so if you are looking for a true Italian reastaurant you should stay... More

Walking distance from Unter den Linden and Museum Island, this smart pizzeria sits in the arches under the railway. Huge inside and so even though quite busy wasn't too loud and service was prompt. Good value offered at lunchtimes by the two course menu or the any pizza for €7.95 deal. Decent house red.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
