Good food, but not to spend hours

This is a nice, packed, shop-com-eatery. The setting is a little too bright, too much in front of the shop part of it to spend hours over dinner, but the food is excellent value, and there are obviously tons of options around.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a turkish lady who was born and raised in Kreuzberg. When we came in it looked like a shop and nobody showed us to a table so we picked out one self. The waiter was very friendly and helpfull by picking out from the menu what we would like. We started with a... More

Other than the cozy atmosphere and the unique decoration, I enjoyed ordering a knofi specialisation without knowing what's in it and discovering the mixture of different tastes. Definetly recomend and I am going there again next week for sure.

Amazing food, great buzz, relaxed atmosphere with good service. Good selection of small plates. Would definitely come again.

We met my nephew who lives nearby here for lunch on his recommendation. It's in a nice, bohemian part of Kreuzberg. There are in fact two restaurants/cafes across the road from each other. It's a Turkish/Middle Eastern themed menu. Lots of choices and food was good and not expensive. The staff were, however, pretty brusque bordering on the rude -... More

Knofi has two premises, within close walking distance of each other. One has a cafe-feel, the other is closer to a restaurant Dined at both of them and was very impressed. First time round ate a Turkish platter with a variety of small dishes (falafel, vine leaves, etc) as well as a stunning walnut chili paste (no idea where to... More

We found this Turkish restaurant by chance and we decided to try it based on previous reviews on this site. The food is very good and spicy (especially, the chicken is so tasty!) We were quite happy with everything, including the price that was very cheap.

Ate brunch here today and it was delicious! Service was alright, if a bit slow. All in all, well worth the money

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, it was difficult to get a table as it was super busy at is were 5 of us. The food looked really good and the menu is big, very difficult to make a decision but we all made the right decisions and were happy with our food, good value for money. The service unfortunately... We ate here based on reviews and having walked past; it looked good. It was ok.. Not sure we'd say much more than that. It wasn't awful, the food was ok, just not as as good as some of our other choices. The service was terrible. Food came but no knives and forks and we eventually had to ask and... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
