Amazing food for a great price but terrible service

I've eaten in Knofi twice; one for lunch with my parents when they visited me and once for dinner with a friend. Both times I've been really impressed with the food and the whole look of the place, but the service has been fairly terrible. I also saw one woman smoking in the kitchen when I went to... read more

Where to enjoy excellent food that tastes like mediterranean culture, mixing Turkish, Greek, and the middle east flavors, in a cosy and charming place, filled with mediterranean delicatessen, while having enthusiastic and deep discussions with your friends ? Go to Knofi in Berlin !

We had breakfast, one vegan and one non-vegan. The servings were large, very varied and had delicious fresh food. Great value for the price. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere with a mix of tourists and mostly locals.

... are characteristic for knofi- we went here with our little daughter (1.5 years) and she also enjoyed the falafel and the extremely friendly staff - strong recommendation for a little lunch break or extended breakfast on weekends!

Knofi has been around for years, and that for a reason. Their food is fresh and delicious, and they look out of the interior of their store and are helpful and friendly. Perhaps also because I am always spoiled for choice and end up buying too much. Don't miss this place when you are in Bergmannstrasse

We had wandered past Knofi a few times as we were staying really close, and each time thought it looked really cute and worth a wander in. It wasn't until our last meal in Berlin before we flew home that we ventured inside, but I'm so glad we did! Service was friendly, despite the fact we didn't know more than... More

What can I say? We had brunch at Knofi until we bursted. The vegan breakfast was delicious with wonderful spreads. The eggs were good too. The flavours were outstanding and everything is fresh. Fresh bread, fruits, nice juices and good coffee. Friendly service too. Very nice!

This Turkish-German cafe does mezze as well as it does traditional cream cheese cakes. The breakfasts are huge and varied, with vegetarian and vegan options. The Turkish breakfast was delicious, as were the Gözzies - made in front of your eyes. The prices are incredible. The waiter's English wasn't great but he understood our limited German and was efficient. I... More

Great tapas style selection of Mediterranean dishes from Turkey to Greece and the Middle East. Fresh and tasty. Rude service and constantly fighting off the wasps unfortunately affected the experience negatively.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
