Too busy with gossip to deal with customers

We went for a late fruhstuck to this restaurant as a break from museums. The menu looked good and the prices were fine. The problem was that the staff were too interested in each other to bother to serve.

Food was half warm and half cold. Some pieces of lamb and chicken were stone cold in the centre. Head chef was rude and said they would just reheat our food in the microwave. Walked out as this could be a health issue.

Food was not pretty bland and half warmed and half cold in the same tapas dish. Atmosphere was pretty dreary, with no one seeming to have a great time. Sides were big standard, no thrills... Wine was nice and service quick. Wouldn't go again though.

I have been here 3 times now and I allways love going to Vivolo. The tapas are nice and it is fairly priced. Also it's in a nice less known neighbourhood of Berlin which I love coming back to: Hackischer Markt. The restaurant is big so there is always place for you, even with a larger group. I would definitely... More

We had lunch outside, got the currywurst and pomme frittes deal (about €4) with a beer each. Even though it was lunchtime this restaurant was dead. Food was quick nice - cant go wrong with a curried sausage and chips. But what was annoying was that the lady brought us our check and before handing it over told us that... More

After a late night and a lazy morning, we settled on Vivolo Restaurant, one of many open air venues in Hackeschers Markt offering Früstuck. For the most part, all offer an assortment of bread, assorted meat and cheese dressed with fruit, jam and sometimes vegetables. Some offer yoghurt, eggs and muesli. Service was fast and friendly and Macchiato arrived shortly... More

Located on the Haackesche Market it has a nice ambiente (inside and outside). Music outside and disturbing noise makes it partly impossible to talk (outside). Stuff is friendly and engaged. Meals: we had various tapas, desert, red wine and normal drinks. All of fair quality. Definetely better then average. You make nothing wrong when stopping here

Again this place is part of Hackescher Markt it was probably the least favorite of ours, we dined in this area 20 times this trip and this place had only an average menu, average service and very little atmosphere to be fair we may have thought Tapas was the same as you get in Spain but it was not. The... More

We stopped here for some lunch on a sunny day in Berlin, the restaurant is in square in Hackescher Markt just next to the train station surrounded by various other restaurants with lots of tables and umbrellas outside - the perfect setting for a summer day. We ordered some tapas - jamon serrano, tomato meatballs, baked goatcheese with salad and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
