Beautiful crowd, nice meat, everything else overpriced

Hip restaurant with beautiful staff and diners. professional service although can sometimes be a bit slow in the rush hour. Great meat! but... everything else is ridiculously over priced. I had high expectations visiting Grill Royal since I had such a great experience at they're sister restaurant Pauly Saal. The place was huge, darkly lit and played loud music - and to me it felt more tacky than trendy. How ever we were welcomed by a friendly waiter and started our evening with half a kilo roasted prawns, served... More

A very nice dining experience in modern surroundings. The food was excellent, and the service likewise, with our waiter being attentive, yet not overly so. He suggested a wine to go with our meals, and it was a very good match. The restaurant is located next to the Spree river, and also offers outdoor seating. Although it cost approx EUR... More

Very attractive setting, on Friedrichstrasse, overlooking the Schnee River, although a bit difficult to locate. Service is very good, wine list extensive and food excellent, in particular, the wide range of steak dishes. We were served by a very helpful and knowledgeable Aussie guy, who helped to make this a most enjoyable experience. He provided very good wine choices.

We try and visit here every time we visit Berlin. The steak (especially the Kobe beef) is always good . This time we tried the sole - they do excellent fish too. Its very much a bistro in terms of service, atmosphere and the closeness of tables, but you are paying a higher price for the excellent food.

Very trendy and big restaurant. Their steak are great, love the sweet potato fries and their bearnaise. Our waiter was smiling and polite, but 45 min wating time for a beef is to long time. The chocolate mouse was ok

Steaks are served almost to perfection, although compared to genuine US steak house culture cut sizes are doubtable... Service does not live up to standard- waiters always approach when they want to make business, never when you need them!!! Friendliness only at the most superficial level.

One of the best meat restaurants in town. Nice ambiance, great food. The service is not so good, principally the hostess is a little bit snob. Better to make a reservation because It is always full. Unfortunatly they just open at evenig.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
