delicious overpriced food

It sums it all. The crowd is very good. It's perfect location, great vibe, the meat was delicious. The prices are too expensive for what it actually is. The service is ok without being great. They have an arrogant attitude and i am not sure if they like Not german customers or have benefitted from... read more

Really good beef, witn own aged cuts, as well as seafood. Great winelist with good variety from all over the world. Pretty crowded, but still cozy and relaxed athmosphere. Good service and well stocked bar, so of course a little pricy!

Had dinner there on a Wednesday night. The place was full, very trendy, beautiful people. If you want to be in a chic place for people warching, this is a good place. Decor and ambience is excellent, food good, but not extroardinary, just ok. The problem here is that the quality of the food (at least what we ordered) was... More

Had a slight mishap with the steak being undercooked for how we requested but after waiting to re cook was a great meal in the end. Would recommend.

This is the place to be seen and ogle over the other diners. The art on the wall and within the restaurant is meant to be provocative: women's' genitalia in neon, a T-rex statue in the middle of a banquette. The restaurant is a steakhouse; it's not a special steakhouse, just a typical one. It's reminiscent of upscale American with... More

Beautiful location by the river and the steak and red wine lived up to expectations. At 70 euro a head for two courses and wine it's not cheap but worth it for a special occasion

This restaurant was bustling with activity on a wednesday evening. Its location is just by the river, central and the setting is well adapted. As expected the menu concentrates on the meat cuts and they have a variety of meats including kobe beef. For starters we had the chilled sea food platter and beef tartar and then a 1kg Chateubriand... More

Most of grill restaurants are rather simple, this restaurant however has style and offers a nice choise of mainly meat (done in numerous ways) and lobster. That quality is reflected in the price of the dishes. The winelist is impressive and runs from table wines (€ 50) to far more expensive wines (€ 1.750,- plus). The average better wine easely... Grill Royal has a perfect location in the centre of Berlin, closer to the Channels and the boats passing by. The hectic environment is just fantastic and the restaurant was just "packed" with customers. The Meny is more than you can expect and the Vine list offers the best you can find. I had T-bone steak and it was served... More

I went to Grill Royal during the Berlin Film Festival. First off this is quite a scene during the festival! I went with a group of 7 and had a wonderful meal. I had the filet which was amazing and the radish salad for starters. A gin and tonic and a few bottles of wine later this made for a... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
