A restaurant of two worlds, Spindler&Klatt is a relaxed riverside restaurant by day, with cocktails and smooth, soothing music in the background, and a vibrant hub for house, trance and techno DJs to get the people dancing throughout the night. One of Berlin's trendiest rendezvous, this is a popular place for people to taste fantastic fusion cuisine, flavoured with Asian and European influences. Dining here is truly a comfort, as you can enjoy your meal and drinks lying on futons as well as sitting at tables. In the summer, the 650 m² terrace offers direct access to the River Spree and the interior and exterior merge into one through the open roller shutters. Spindler&Klatt is also an incredibly versatile venue for all kinds of events. Its rich decor and innovative food will certainly leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Great party venue

Scenic and trendy, this restaurant is a great location for a party. The food is ok and cocktails are rather on short side but the place is worth a visit.

Expectation were high and we were bit let down. First when we arrived the staff didnt have a clue if rest of our group has already arrived or not. Secondly, it took them ages to give us plates and take our orders. We got free shots and drinks to stay for the dancing, but the music was not really good... More

I was at Spindler & Klatt for the birthday of my best friend. We were a group of 10 and we booked in advance a table. I have to admit that the place is very suggestive, facing the East side gallery on the other side of the spree. I would recommend it for drinks pre-dinner. We ordered appetizers, main and... More

Location of this place is good, fashionable industrial style near the river, in a "to be" neighborhood...(yes, Bobos, I'm looking at you). However...worst service experience in Berlin. We arrived at 8.30 pm, place not (yet) crowded. We ordered 2 cocktails and 2 main dishes. I thought it was not worth mentioning I'd like to enjoy my cocktail first, during let's... More

Cool place, really nice location. Good food (fish was excellent) and very tasty. Amazing dessert. I would really suggest and for sure I'll come back again.

I enjoyed a great evening at this unique location right next to the River Spree. It is an old warehouse with high ceilings and great ambiance. We had a dinner for about 200 people and then turned the place into a disco and danced all night.

We went here to have dinner and go out - as an easy combo. Finding the entrance was not obvious - go down the factory looking ground towards the water. Food and service was excellent but once we finished dinner around 23.00 nothing was happening, and nothing looked like it was about to start happening. We left and continued partying... More

I participated in a special conference event held at this venue and it was a great experience. I loved the location right on the Spree river, with a view of the old Berlin wall just across the river. The outside mingling area was nice and I loved the interior ambiance (the bathrooms being inside old cargo containers was a cool... More

This restaurant was suggested by the hotel concierge. It is a restaurant which becomes a club after 11PM. We were greeted by Alessandro, a waiter from Italy that established himself in Berlin. He was very helpful and accommodative, helping us feel comfortable, taking pics per our request and also suggesting menu items. The restaurant is by the river and with... More

My friend and I are here doing a mini euro trip from Toronto, Canada. This restaurant came highly recommended to us by a lot of our friends, in addition to the internet! A few months ago we were on THEIR website and tried to get a reservation for March 18, 2015 however at that time (probably in December) there was... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
