Delicious a food in a relaxed setting with great service

We arrived for dinner, without a reservation but the waiter could not have been more accommodating. Delicious food, huge portions and good service, and reasonable prices too. A good pick for an evening.

We eat here at least once a week. My boyfriend is from the South and he loves getting authentic home cooked Schwäbisch food right here in Berlin. If you're not from Germany, note that this is traditional German food from the South West of the country. It's a true treat and different from other German food you'll find in the... More

My brother and I brunched and then dinnered at Schwarzwalstuben past Sunday. The feel of the restaurant was very comfortable and had a bit of character. There were three main breakfast types to choose from. We had the mixed breakfast and everything was very fresh - particularly the muesli (much to my suprise)! We were short changed for the brunch... Schwarzwaldstuben is the perfect restaurant to come to relax and enjoy authentic German cuisine. They have a variety of Flamkuchen, all of which are delicious, and excellent Schnitzel as well. Their cocktails are also delicious and very strong. The wait staff provides very friendly service, and they all speak English.

Don't miss the starter plate to share. Great food and friendly service. The elderberry lemonade was delicious. The crepe dessert was also worth it.

Went for dinner here based on recommendations by a local. Make sure you make a reservation as they tend to get really busy (also try to reserve an outdoor table as there is no aircon inside) Had the most amazing dinner - everything was cooked wonderfully and bursting with flavour. Service was good & beers were nice and cold. If... More

We read about the restaurant in our guide and as we were in the neighbourhood we went here. We had rabbit to our beer and it was very tasty. The service was nice and friendly! We really enjoyed being here and hope we will be back!

When I first visited Berlin in 2009, I was so wary of trying German food that I ate everything but, excluding the odd currywurst. Returning in March this year I'm so glad I decided to give it a go. Schwarzwaldstuben is modern German, fresh and hearty but never stodgy. The atmosphere is cozy with walls covered in kistch pastoral murals... More

I took my boyfriend's mum here for her first nighty when she came to visit me, and can really recommend it. The atmosphere was buzzy, the food was delicious and the prices are Ok for the quality of the food: I had a huge portion of Maultaschen to reminisce on my time spent living near Stuttgart, and my boyfriend's mum... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
