We had a really good wiener schnitzel here and, of course, the wines are excellent as they are produced locally. There is a very nice courtyard to sit in too if the weather is good. This is run by a charitable organisation set up many years ago by local businessmen and the profits go to provide care for elderly locals... More

Our waitress was lovely, and suggested some wine which we loved, and our food was delicious. The setting is down in a cellar type place with vaulted ceilings and a medieval type feel, but not over the top, recommended.

My partner is a regular guest of this place. I also go there often. It's a solid restaurant that serves good food. Servers are mostly good natured as well. When you are in the area, try them. You aren't gonna be disappointed.

I'd highly recommend this restaurant. I had arrived in Germany in the morning and had spent the day looking around Wurzburg, trying to stay awake. This place was recommended by the hotel and it was great. Excellent service and tasty food. Wonderful!

I have eaten at this restaurant twice and I really like the food, ambience and the wine. I had a pork chop, a potato dumpling and very good red cabbage with a bit of rich, brown gravy. There is something about the red cabbage that just lingers on your taste buds. I think it might be some spices or cinnamon... More

It was a busy night but we got a table when we walked in. There seems to be 2 eating sections (& a wine bar) & I think we ate in the less classy bit. The food was great. The chicken was crumbed which the menu didn't mention but tasty. The waiter was efficient but a bit abrupt - but... More

I was fooled by the hype in this restaurant about their dry cured beef so lovingly cured and prepared. They post wonderful descriptions in the menus. So I splurged and ordered the rib eye steak without bone at 33 euro a pop. What the waiter brought was a large chunk of bone with a few scraps of meat clinging to... More

The Burgerspital Weinstuben is divided into three parts. There's a chic wine bar as you enter, a traditional looking eating section and a modern section based on traditional design with pillars and arches and beautifully lit. This is where I ate. I was surprised at other contributors mention of poor or rude service. As a solo diner I find a... More

This is a nicely situated weinstube/restaurant between the station and the Residenz, in a picturesque courtyard of the historical old folks' home. So, nice ambiance. The food is quite good, with lots of flavour, local specialties and imagination. Alas, the experience is spoiled by the attitude of the staff, who tend to treat customers as tedious distractions from what self-important jobs... More
