Hospital restaurant serving their own wine

Like the Bürgerspital Weinstuben the Juliusspital Weinstuben is a real hospital restaurant and they serve their own wines. We very much enjoyed our meal in the courtyard restaurant (in August).

Came in for lunch and it was great !! The menu has a lot of local dishes and there were several that sounded very nice. Ended up with a Franken special with pasta that was very good and tasty. The atmosphere was great with a basement / weinstube feel. They have a great selection of local wines both by the... More

This restaurant serves traditional Bavarian food and is just off the city main shopping streets. It is worth going early or booking. The food was good but the most rememorable thing is the range of wines and the fact that the most popular ones are delivered from wine pumps at the bar. Would go back again

We visited friends in Würzburg over the weekend and stopped by Weinstuben Juliusspital for an early lunch before driving home, which also meant that we couldn't sample much of their extensive wine list. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the "Hugo" - a delicious cocktail of elderflower syrup mixed with a Juliusspital sparkling wine. The kids shared a Wiener Schnitzel while we looked... More

Having eaten here a few times, my 3 star rating is not because of any negative experience but that the food and experience was simply average. It is a nice place to eat - the salads are typically German but so are the schnitzels, braturst, sausages. Good for a bigger group but one should book.

Juliusspital will celebrate its 500 year anniversary this year providing for all these times free service to the elderly, poor, and sick through a variety of institutions. Why I am telling you this? because you not only getting a terrific dinner with incredible wines, you do a good deed by supporting Juliusspital. A winner!

We started our trip in Wurzburg, and the Weinstuben Juliusspital was the very 1st restaurant experience in the region, the wines are fantastic as well as the food. Staff are courteous (even tough you only speak English), interior are interesting with lots of old fashion decoration.

We had a very difficult time finding this restaurant at night. Even asked a number of locals along the way and no one seemed to know about it. The entrance is located on a side street past the hospital complex, quite confusing. We had some local simple dishes and traditional wine. Service could have been better. One waiter seemed to... A cozy, traditional-styled restaurant for enjoying good German food with excellent wine from a local winery. I will definitely be back.

I only stayed 1 night in Wurzburg and local colleagues took me to this restaurant. It was a great opportunity to try some of the local food and wines. I was actually surprised that I couldn't get a beer, but this is a wine area and well it's probably logical that a 'Weinstuben' only serves wine... So I tried some... More
