If dining after 6pm you'll need a reservation (only a few tables). If you're a party of 4-6 reserve the basement/cellar table - this is the coolest and oldest spot to dine in Rothenburg. This is a sister-restaurant of Hotel Herrnschloesschen so if you want a little more ambiance because you couldn't sit in the cellar room, you could dine... More

This building was constructed about 900 AD, and has been a restaurant since 1100 AD. This alone made it worth the visit. Our group of six was accommodated in a small, stone-walled room which was both very cool and very private. The food is the typical Bavarian fare, that being said we all enjoyed out meals. Waitstaff were efficient. We... More

Showed up, and needed a reservation, but he told us we could come back in an hour, so we wondered around the beautiful town and then came back a bit early. The owner found us some chairs, so we sat in the middle of the restaurant while we had a beer. Super friendly! Then we had a super filling and... More

Came here per Tripadvisor recommendation, was not disappointed. Prices were very reasonable, service was amazing albeit a bit slow (we were not in a hurry and it seems to be a trend in Bavaria). The recommended white wine was delicious even for non wine drinkers. The garlic soup was a bit salty but the rest of the food was very... More

A must eat here in Germany. This food was tremendous. I think if this restaurant was in Atlanta, reservations would be booked a year in advance. It's also in one of the oldest buildings in Rothenberg. Loved it!

I would go here again in a heartbeat. Beautiful setting, amazing food, excellent service and so inviting. My husband and I went a few years ago and I still think about this experience. I have the wine glasses that I drink from still and reminisce that I will return. So much history! I felt so much a part of the... More

We stayed for two nights in Rottenburg and are here both nights - why risk having awful tourist food if you love your first meal?! Awesome service and great suggestions for wine etc to match the meal (try the local white presented in a flat bottle). First night we had the skewers (meat was ever so slightly dry) and the... More

This place has a small but exceptional food menu. The waiter/host's service was perfect. He had a distinct nature to make the experience excellent and a memorable experience. A must go!

Excellent selection of beers and wines. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very "baroque". Love the carved tables and chairs. The wurst platter is well worth trying!
