What a fun night!

We were getting hungry so my husband found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We did not have a reservation so they invited us to sit with another couple. As it turned out that really made the evening fun. I noticed she was eating a tender looking steak in chanterelle sauce so I ordered that. It came... read more

The old man was really nice but the young waiter treated us as if we were not there. First, he made us wait 25 minutes and then he gave a spot to a couple that came later than us. Didn't feel the need to try the food when you have very bad service.

This restaurant served excellent Bavarian food in a charming atmosphere, so typical of southern Germany. Its built on one of the oldest foundations in the town, dating back to the 900's. Even though the building was old, the restrooms were very modern and clean.

Service was very good. An older gentleman served us, and even though the restaurant was crowded and we were late he was very sweet and gave a charming explanation of the specials. Only problem was it was tooooo salty. We ordered the soup of the day, tomato soup, a skewer of meats, and a steak on chanterelle mushrooms with cream... More

Dropped by here after going to the criminal museum down the street. The food was decent, ordered a rack of ribs which were prepared very well and my fiancee ordered a schnitzel with semmelknoedel (potato dumpling) served in a eierschwammerl cream sauce that the server recommended. I can confirm the short list of food options (perhaps 15 items are so)... More

This restaurant is in a very old building in one of Rothenburg's back streets. The service was friendly and helpful. There is not a huge menu to choose from but we had the sausages and the ribs. Both were tasty and generous in size. We heard about the strudel and shared one between us - it was delicious. There is... More

This was a solid meal in a very touristy place. You can tell they really care about their food and service! Try the apple strudel, it's great and not very sweet which I loved. The ribs were find. If you order the daily special know it will be quite $$ ($18-21). We didn't realize that in advance. If you go... More

Hell has clearly stood out as the best meal that my boyfriend and I have had throughout our entire three month trip around Europe! The restaurant is in a medieval house giving it a fantastic ambience and a very intimate dining experience, as there are not many tables inside. The menu is small and there are multiple specials on each... More

Couldn't ask for anything more awesome. From the cool building to the excellent food to the make you feel at home service this was more than a meal it was a great experience. Love this place and this town.

Enjoyed the Chanterelle mushroom dish and I had the most amazing fresh tomato soup - we had the apple strudel and it was good but not quite as good as the other reviews have built it up. But definitely check it out as the atmosphere was very nice.
