Excellently prepared food in a very very old and charming building. We especially liked the desserts.

We were recommended to dine here by our hotel (Herrnschloesschen). It was a great recommendation indeed. The restaurant was very crowded when we arrived but they managed to get us a table right away. They provided a high chair for our baby and staff were very attentive to our little one. The selection of food was as traditional and authentic... More

The food here is very good and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. The low beamed ceiling and the layout of the restaurant all add to the character of the venue. It is however a little pricier than other places we ate in Rothenburg.

Yes we succumbed to the recommendations of the night watchman:). Huge wine and beer list, with minimal menu space dedicated to food. What food they do offer was very good albeit slightly pricy. It is a small restaurant so things are pretty tight in there. Probably not the place to go if you are claustrophobic. The only con I had... More

Rothenburg closes early for the most part, so finding a place that stays open late and that has great atmosphere in this lovely old town is worth its weight. Zur Holl fit the bill in spades. We didn't eat, we just went in for a night cap (or two...) and had a great time. As I mentioned, the atmosphere is... More

We had the cave room shown in some of the photos by customers - the atmosphere was great. A nice quiet corner for 4 of us to have a lovely chat (but it holds a maximum of around 8 people). We had 3 mains - 1. Pork Ribs - Was perfect. Tasted like american stuff but none the less tasted... More

This is just a remarkable experience that is trully uforgettable. I've read the reviews here and followed the suggestions. We went there in mid June, in a warm and sunny evening. The street is quiet and charming, and the restaurant has a special cave with a table were 6 people can sit. We got it and ordered the "specials", which... More

Although this place is basically a bar/pub (there are 6 pages of drinks on an 8 page menu), they do have a few meal choices. It's not as affordable as some other places (about 18 euro a plate) but the atmosphere is interesting. Get the steak skewer - it's a huge vertical skewer with huge pieces of meat. They have... More
