Good and affordable traditional cuisine

Good location, friendly personal, good beer, good traditional food at cheap prices! i ate Fraenkische Bratwuerst at only 8 Euros and a pils was only 2,30. So it was very cheap!

This is a small, quaint little restuarant, but very atmospheric. The service was very good, the food delicious, and pricing was very affordable. We had two main courses (try the pig knuckles over saurkraut), two mixed salads, and a bottle of wine for €45. I highly recommend it.

Sorry to have to say it, but this was likely the worst restaurant I ate at during my last trip to Germany. It probably did not help that because we lacked a reservation we were forced to share a table with a couple of middle aged German women who clearly resented our being plunked down with them. More importantly, however,... More

The greeting and service were excellent. We both loved our dinners and my wife, who is not easy to please, really enjoyed the apple strudel even more than her dinner which was one of her best!

We stayed in this hotel, so it was convenient to have dinner here, and the food is excellent. A lot of places are closed on Sundays, so it was nice that this restaurant was open!

A little less formal than the other restaurant we tried in Rothenburg. Very English friendly, I think they had us all in a separate dining room. Good selections for both food and wine.

We have been to RodT many times in the last 15 years and we always end up taking most of our dinners at the Klosterstuble. The interior of the restaurant is quite attractive but the terrace, in good weather, can't be beat. Service is fast and efficient (Erica ensures her staff is hopping). I like their Schnitzel and the Sauerbraten... More

After a very unfortunate experience at another Rothenburg restaurant, we ventured here for dinner with our two sons (ages 9 and 7). The servers were wonderful and the traditional German food was excellent. Even though they were very busy, the service was very attentive and pleasant, and the quality of the food high. Great selection of local wines as well.... More

We were staying at the hotel and because the restaurant was closed on the evening we arrived, a table was reserved for us on evening 2. Service was very good, the small restaurant was busy (there is also an outside terrace), it had a small but varied menu, and a good wine list. Food quality and quantity was excellent, so... More

There are probably dozens of Gasthäuser in Rotenburg, and the Klosterstuble doesn't stand out since it's tucked down a side street, not too far from the Burggarten. We had looked at the hotel in the same location but booked elsewhere; nonetheless the reviews told me the restaurant was worth visiting. It was well worth it. It's an attractive restaurant inside,...
