Great Authentic German Meal

Ordered two soups as appetizers which were both very delicious followed by Maultaschen and Roulade which were even better. They were very busy but we were able to call ahead to reserve a table for later in the evening. Great atmosphere inside as well!

Our best memory is the waitress warming up to our attempts to speak German. She taught us the colloquial "Guten Rutsch" which is a well wisher's farewell used in the run-up to New Year's Day. Food is traditional and very satisfying. Great value. Would recommend this place.

Just a little walk up from the main Platz and worth every step! Great food, great prices, lovely outdoor tables. We asked our sales lady in one of the shops of the town where her favorite place was for lunch and she recommended this. She was so right! Yummy local food!

This restaurant serves local food at reasonable prices. It is situated on a square and there are a few tables outside with a much larger seating area inside. We ordered 2 bratwurst and grosser salad which was delicious and a very substantial portion. The restaurant offers a basic interior without much of an atmosphere, but you go there for the... More

We stopped here randomly for lunch while visiting Rothenburg ob der Tauber. They serve typical southern german fare and the food was really good as was the service. The outdoor seating was beautiful and this is a perfect place to dine at on a gorgeous day. I seem to remember that they did offer an English menu, or at least... More

This place was recommended by our hotel for local food. Many locals were there. Food was hot and tasty. We really enjoyed our diner then a short walk home to hotel. I had sauerkraut & Franconia sausage both were yummy!

We were staying at the Gasthof Butz (see our hotel review) and decided to eat there on our first night. In nice weather you can sit in the front or back of the hotel (the front looks onto a quite square) – they also have a large seating area inside They have a very reasonably priced regional menu I started... In you find this cosy gasthof right in the centre but somewhat hidden in a backstreet then you will not be disappointed if you like Deutschfood. Actually it was our guide Hannelore Schultze who brought us here and though it was rather busy with locals they did their best to make us one table. My Jagerschnitzel was excellent and there... We visited in January when most restaurants were closed. This was the best thing about the place, it was open and we were hungry. Dishes were reasonable but not more than that.
