We ate lunch here with many from our tour group. First, we had potato soup, which was quite good. Next, we had chicken breast with boiled potatoes and vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, broccoli). For dessert, we had apple strudel with vanilla sauce. We also had dry white wine. The food was decent, but we decided we should have had the vegetarian... More

Took the recommendation of another restaraunt with similar environment and cuisine. Wait staff was attentive, friendly, followed up to see how everything was. As a lover of duck, I was impressed with their version. Great overall experience. Many locals, which is always a good sign!

Like many others who have posted here, we were taken here by Viking during our tour of Rothenburg. It may not be fair to judge a restaurant when the menu, drinks, seating have been prearranged by your tour company, but one either gets a good impression or a bad impression of a place. Mine was of a typical tourist place.... More

Visited today as part of Viking Tour Party, expected as being one of probably 80 or so it would be indifferent, however, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. A set menu, potato soup to start with, followed by Bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes was a proper winter warmer then Apfel strudel with vanilla sauce,... More

We were taken to this restaurant for lunch on a group visit with Viking cruises. We were not expecting too much as a group. However, the food we had was excellent and typical for the region, which is just what we wanted. Really tasty, and authentic

The food we had here was not fine dining, but more of a taste of traditional everyday fare from this region. We were charmed by the cosy, quaint dining room and the friendly and efficient wait staff. It was busy on the day of our visit with tour groups but our meal came with out much waiting. Would recommend this place... More

We visited here as part of our Viking River Cruise tour. Had potato soup, bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and apple strudel for dessert. It was good but not great. The bratwurst was dry and overcooked but we're not sure if it was the restaurant's fault or because we were late. The wait service was very good.

This is a lovely old building in a delightful location. The food we had for lunch was somewhat ho-hum We had potato soup, bratwurst and apple strudel. They were not bad but not particularly good either.

My own hotel's restaurant was closed, so I tried the Glocke - and enjoyed a great meal. I can only comment, of course, on the one dish I ordered: Franconian Sauerbraten, a variation on the traditional Rhenish dish with a gravy enriched by Nuremberg Christmas cookies (Lebkuchen), accompanied by potato dumplings, a varied salad, and a good selection of Franconian... This place has their own wine celler and production of the wine. Food and wine were great. Great value for money as well.
