We stayed in the excellent nearby Gaestehaus Schoeberl and as we were tired on our first night in Fuessen, we decided to eat in the nearest restaurant to our guesthouse, which happened to be the Franziskanerstuberl. What a lovely surprise! We had some sort of turkey schnitzel and it was divine! Great friendly atmosphere and great selection of beers also.... More

The worst meal i had in Fussen. We went there for lunch i ordered a salad with prawns and my boyfriend a Jaegerschnitzel with a mushroom sause and späztle. My salad was very oily and not in a nice way the supposed garlic baguette was uneatable, greasy and very salty, the schnitzel was overcooked and dry. This place is the... More

We tried different dishes and both were horrible, in different ways. I had spätzle mit Käse, and it has absolutely no taste. Nothing ! In the other hand, my friends took dishes with sausages (they were so greasy !) and Sauerkraüt, which was tasting awful, between sweet-sour chinese cabbage and old yoghurt. If you don't mind going in a place... More

This restaurant was small and traditionally decorated, serving a good range of typical Bavarian food. We both had a dish based around sausage, and both were delicious. The sauerkraut was very good. For dessert we tried Apfelstrudel which is the best I have ever eaten! With our strudel we each had a Jagertee - and Austrian tea mixed with rum... More

Now is called "Zum franziskaner"......but the experience was good. Friendly staff (speak English), many options (menu in English and Italian) and resonable prices. Our choice was perfect. I would be there again. Be aware that they do not accept Credit Cards!

Food good but order was mixed up and disagreements ensued even though clearly described on menu. Sevice OK but not overly cordial. Would probably go elsewhere.

Now this cafe is called "Zum franziskaner". And I agree with previous reviews. Everything is tasty and friendly waiters speak Enlish, Italian and a little Russian.

Walter, our waiter was über-friendly, and with good humour helped us to choose our meals. Menu in German, English and Italian ... Menu posted on the wall with photos of the dishes.

Zum Franziskaner is a great little restaurant tucked just off the central part of Fussen. Walter, our server, was really great, he ended up inviting us to watch the EuroCup match that night with a bunch of his friends. The food was simple but pretty amazing...probably the best bratwurst and sauerkraut I've ever had! The prices were really reasonable as... More
