Good local kitchen.

Good selection of Bavarian food, good and quick service, reasonable prices, nice decoration. Noisy as it is in an old medieval hall.

German restaurants on new year's eve are crowded, impossible to get a table without a reservation. But...the Ratskeller gladly accommodated us. Like Mary and Joseph looking for a warm place to rest!

We reach Augsburg in a cold summer night of July. Rain, wind...A night when you need to be in a cosy place. This restaurant was recommended to us at the hotel. We found it very easy, is under the building of the City Hall. Of course, the local was full, but the owner, a very nice man, managed to give us... More

3 or 4 stars, that is the question: You enter and you really like the place, high ceiling, touch of old style with modern design BUT loud. OK, it was full but the friendly service found a lonely table for me BUT then it took 10 minutes to come back to get the order. The food then arrived promptly BUT... More

Had dinner on the outdoor terrace with some local friends - nice place, good vibe and location on a warm summer evening. Food was quite good and reasonably priced - typical Bavarian fare, nicely done. Staff were friendly but extremely slow to do anything - granted the place was busy but I certainly wouldn't go there if one was hungry... More

I had lunch at the Ratskeller in Augsburg in May 2015. Whenever I eat at a Ratskeller, I typically order the same thing - Wiener schnitzel, a mixed salad, and a beer. While the beer and salad were good, the Wiener schnitzel was not. It lacked the typical schnitzel preparation. In addition, the meat - pork, not veal - was... More

Ordered the steak with pasta and fried onion. The onion wasn't great, but the steak was decent. Service was kind but slow. More than 45 minutes waiting for our meal.

I do like this place a lot. This is not the finest food in the world, for sure, but the taste is nice and the prices are soft (less than 10€ for a very nice scalop... local beers for less than 4€ for 50cl..). Cocktails are also very cheap from 6-8pm, and after 10pm. On weekend, please dont forget to... More

It was our second, and probably last time at Ratskeller in Augsburg. We went for a late lunch, so the the place was not even half full. Anyhow, the music was much too loud and definitely wrong kind of music for a restaurant where one is supposed to eat. The atmosphere was more like in a lounge for young and... More
