....but you have to reserve a table in this busy and noisy restaurant, the good burghers of Regensburg' meet there for a drink, meal or celebration, and for the last few years the students and the tourists come as well.

This is really a great restaurant. I had the pork knuckle and it was one of the best I have ever had. They brew their own been and it was wonderful. Service was prompt and very efficient and the waitress was very helpful. The location is convenient, easy to get to. I would have to say that overall it was... More

I am a student in Regensburg, and made a reservation here for my parents, who had travelled a very long way to see me, and to meet my girlfriend for the first time. Upon arrival, the waitresses completely ignored us, not speaking to us unless spoken to, which was as uncomfortable as it was unwelcoming. It became rapidly obvious that... More

As a professional traveler I have eaten in more than 1,000 restaurants all over Germany and this sprawling place with the unassuming exterior takes the prize and joins my Top 100.

They brew his own beer, so good for summer. The size of the meals are outstanding and are delicious.

Kneitinger Bock beer is absolutely my favorite beer in the world. On previous trips to Germany, I've driven as much as 3 hours out of my way just to have it. Unfortunately, to my extreme disappointment, it is a seasonal brew and is only available from October until the first of April. I arrived on April 8th! I tried their... More

You know how it is, you visit a restaurant many years ago and have the chance, unexpectedly to visit again. Same high standards, excellent waitress service and the food memories will stay with me for a long time. A must for all Regensburg visitors.

I recently visited Kneitinger with several of my German friends and business associates during our meetings in Regensburg. We really enjoyed the traditional German cuisine and excellent beer. I selected their schweinhaxn special and swapped out the potato dumpling for a side of spätzle. This meal combined with a few fresh weissbier or dunkel brews, and you will be in... More

I lived in Regensburg and have been going to Kneitinger for years and years. I like it very much, despite the sometimes grumpy waitresses and the many tourists, because it still is a Bavarian original. It doesn't serve the best Bavarian food in the area but very close to it. I have eaten maybe twenty different things (and the Schlachtschüssel... More

This is about the only place near the old town that comes anywhere near being a traditional beer hall in Regensburg. it is a favorite with older locals and can be very busy. As mentioned the staff can be "business-like" as they are running to keep up with the volume. That said I don't expect smiles and giggles in a... More
