From the outside it looks very inviting, but it's a bit beer and skittles rather than white tablecloths and wine. Food was disappointing too. Great location but poor utilisation of what should be a first class venue.

We were driving from Prien am Chiemsee to Dresden. Regensburg was a perfect lunch stop. The town is well preserved and interesting. The old Town Hall is a landmark in its own right. The Ratskeller is a historic place. We chose to sit outside and absorb the number of cruise ship groups walk by with guides, the city bus making... More

We sat outside watching two minstrels entertaining children (and adults!!) with bubble making ropes. Good German food washed down with an excellent selection of beers. Inside you can feel the history with low beamed ceilings, leather and wood everywhere.

My sister and I were hanging out for a real Bavarian dinner like our mother (polish) used to cook for us when we were younger. We were looking around Regensburg as part of out Scenic river cruise when we came across the Ratskeller and the meal was everything we could have asked for and more.Potato salad to die for and the... We had a great linner (late lunch/early dinner). The grilled turkey salad was huge and the plate of mixed grilled wursts were great. The local beer & wine was very enjoyable. Service was excellent.

Six of us stopped here for an escape from crowd and the heat, we found a wonderful surprise. The serves was excellent, the prices well within reason and the atmosphere old and delightful. The Ratskeller is deceptively large inside the unpretentious front door. I recommend sitting in the open court yard beyond the bar, very quiet and relaxing.

The restaurant is in a very old building, and I mean old - some 600-700 years old, and it is decorated with the coats of arms of the burgomasters of the 14th and 15th centuries. Extremely interesting and colorful. The food is typical Bavarian cuisine, with very large portions of supremely good food. The atmosphere is very mellow (they make... More

Visited lovely Regensburg on a chilly evening in May, and by strolling through the old city center, we discovered the beautiful Ratskeller and enjoyed just a local beer. Beautifully located you're able to enjoy a luncheon or dinner in this historical venue.

Had a lovely dinner here a few weeks ago. The salads were large and nicely chilled. We ordered the Pork Medallions with Mushroom Cream Sauce, Grilled Zander & Baked Filet of Carp. Everything was good except for the carp. It was a special but the flavor was very fishy tasting and the texture was unpleasant. Perhaps that is the nature... More

The beer is great. The sausages are good. The mustered is very interesting. Its not expensive, the food and drinks are great and the service is welcoming - we definitely recommend it.
