A wonderfully inventive and delightful meal, that succeeded in being avant garde and at the same time extraordinarily delicious. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, and the service friendly and unpretentious. The best Michelin 2-star meal I've ever had -- and judging solely by the cuisine, it was actually better than the meals we had at the 3-star Alain Ducasse... More

I found the restaurant by looking on trip adviser. Might be one of the best restaurant I ever tried. Only 4 courses in the meniu, ask for all 4, they are small and extremely good. Nice and intimate atmosphere . You can't be unpleased. Thanks to the management, very well trained staff.

There is a limit to experimental cooking - why should I be the guinea pig and even pay dearly? I am happy to admit that this time I proved all wrong. The evening started off with an ouverture, a series of small surprise servings, every one even more delicious the one before. This was followed by a 7-dish menu, every... More

we were three friends for lunch. char with ginger broth was extremely strong and completely over power the fish... The highlight - believe it or not was the Kohlrabi dish. Simple but definitely not simplicity. The dish was impressing interesting and delicious. The only dish BTW in the meal that was justifying to my humble opinion the 2 star standards.... More

We came to Essigbrätlein with high expectations and we were not disappointed. An excellent meal from the starter to the friandises. The selection of beans with pistachio and the pigeon were amazing. The homemade chocolate selection was another favorite of mine. The cook serves all dishes himself - a phenomenal place for gourmets!

Chef Köthe and Ollech have adopted vegetables and turned them into stars. Not just a side order anymore vegetable plays the dominant role here and become an important part of the Menu with its own spice blends. They never had lobster or caviar on the table and otherwise waives illustrious because expensive beasts - for ethical reasons. When cooking, the... More

This was, without doubt, the best meal we had during our two plus weeks in Germany. We elected to have lunch, a set menu, to avoid a late night prior to an early departure for Dresden. We were glad because this is a meal that needs to be eaten slowly, savored—and digested. The restaurant, which has two well-earned stars from... More

This is an elegant and intimate restaurant with only about 7 tables, so we were a little apprehensive about bringing in our 3 little boys. However, this turned out to be a wonderful and memorable experience. The meals were beautifully presented and very imaginative, with unusual ingredients. The venison was perfect, but my favorite dish was the bean dish. It... More

This was one of the best restaunrants I've seen during our Germany-trip - it was the reason for me to get an account at tripadvisor. Not the cheepest restaurant in town, but definitely one of the best ones. Marvellous! I'll come back whenever I have the chance to visit Nuremberg again!
