best schnitzel we have ever eaten! Make sure you book though as it's not huge and EXTREMELY popular. Nuremberg is known for it's sausages, but really the Schnitzelria should also be on the map!

The name of this restaurant says it all. If you want schnitzel, this is the place. If you don't, forget it. It's a schnitzel-and-potatoes joint. And nothing wrong with that; the schnitzels are fresh-cooked, and if you want a variation on the norm you could try the Altbayrischer Schnitzel, which has mustard in the coating and is very good. Lots... More

The Tourist Information board recommended we come here for dinner as we were looking for Veal schnitzel, we loved the outside of the building, all wonky looking and the menu was reasonably priced. Once inside, the venue was amazing, built in around 1342 and the waitress told us a beam by my mum was 600 years old - so many... More

A Gashaus in the Old Town area is best I can describe it. From the outside it is not impressive. Enter and you step back hundreds of years. Food was above average and the waitress was delightful. A good experience.

This restaurant is on the main floor of Hotel Elch - Nuremberg's first hotel, established in 1342. The food here is German, but appealing to the tourist and though not incredible, a nice little option is you are looking for schnitzel. From the moose head above the door to the low, wood beam ceilings, this place is something to see.

There's nothing authentic about this place and it's very much for the tourist crowd. The schnitzels themselves are very average and the side elements of the meal are commercial offerings, from deep-freeze to deep-fat fryer. The fried potatoes came swimming in a centimetre of oil - clearly deep fried rather than pan-fried, and the potato pancakes were ex-deep freeze and... More
