Nice place to try the regional specialties.

Tiny little place but it was Sunday and pretty empty. Nice atmosphere inside and they had the typical wurst plates on the menu. Not my favorite type of sausage but I enjoyed trying their version. OK service and seating. Small place so you might end up sitting at a table with other patrons... read more

If you are looking for real authentic, Nuremberg cuisine, this is the place. The scheufele (the pork shoulder with dumplings and sauerkraut) was prepared just right and the keller beer complimented the food to perfection. We were able to enjoy and dinner conversation in a great atmosphere.

Went with two others and just had mains - good job as portion large. I had crackling shoulder of pork with potato dumplings and sauerkraut. It was delish and I could only just finish it, despite being starving. The waitress was pleasant but not too good with English - hey, I was in Germany, ja? The toilets were out of... More

small, quaint and splendid. When we arrived the restaurant was full, always a good a sign. The atmosphere was nice and cosy. The starters were delicious and main just as good. I would definitely return. All round a great experience.

We went to this establishment on a Sunday evening. The Im Keller portion was closed on a Sunday so we did not experience the atmosphere of that part of the restaurant. We had a pork shoulder roast (I cannot remember the translation of it) dinner that was very good. It was not busy on a Sunday evening so the caretaker... More

It's rare for me to be impressed at restaurants and to be honest German food usually doesn't do it for me. However, I will say the dish I had was nothing short of a delectable, amazingly tasty plate of awesomeness! I do not recall the exact name of the dish, but it had two potato pancakes and three pieces of... More

My wife and I had dinner here and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My wife had salmon and I had pork loin with a delicious pepper sauce and their homemade potato pancakes. Considering that they were starting to get real busy, the service was still pretty good. The only complaints are 1) tables near the door are draughty and... More

Big plates, good service, prices are ok. I would recommend it as it is almost in the center of the old town. I took the Schweinhax, served with a Knödl and Sauerkraut and it was really good (and really feeding me). Some Nürnberger sausages as a starter (we were in Nürnberg) with my friends, served with a potatoes salad which... More

We picked here after having had a dismal dinner at another establishment the preceding night. It was the perfect choice. The menu options were good old fashioned Frankish cuisine, with a good selection of local and regional wines on offer. Although there was only one waitress on duty she was diligent and calm in managing the service and we barely... More

OVERALL: Pretty good traditional food (with a few misses); unapologetically slow (!) service; probably worth going if you have a lot of time to eat; make reservations FOOD: Traditional German food (meat-and-potatoes) well prepared, though the potato "dumpling" was very gelatinous and the goose was a bit over-cooked. SERVICE: A bit stern/ curt and excruciatingly slow (e.g., at least 40... More
