They have the meats!

You want traditional German dinner food? Here's the spot. Meat, meat, potatoes and more meat. All are darn good. Match it up withaGerman beer and you can settle in her for the night.

A local friend recommended eating at Huett'n Restaurant after a tour of Nuremberg's underground cellars. The tour drops you just outside the restaurant. When you enter, it feels like you've turned back the clock. Lots of wood and traditional decor makes it feel really authentic. And once you taste the food, you know it is authentic. It has a cozy... Great food (try the sour beef) and excellent beer and wine. You may well end up sharing a table with others, but that's part of the fun. Visited here 3 nights on the trot and nothing mediocre on any of the nights. Recommended.

Visited on Wednesday night and the place was packed with large groups but we managed to share a table with another couple ( this is accepted and normal in Germany). The food was hot and hearty and good value but the best bit was the house beer. Will visit again at least for a drink.

Visited with friends on Friday night. Very busy place close to the castle. Hard to get a seat. We were lucky. Authentic German food . excellent beer. Friendly people. No loud music so good place to chat.

We came here on a Tuesday lunchtime as our intended venue was not open (will remember to check opening times in future). Despite giving the impression of being very busy it appeared as though the staff have a very organised way of allocating tables and there was in reality plenty of availability. Shared a table with a lone German man... More

This is a great traditional German restaurant near the fortress in the old city. It is very busy but what good restaurant isn't? The traditional German food here is excellent at a good price. The menu varies from night to night. You will have no trouble finding something good to order here. Definitely worth a visit.

We had dinner here with local friends. I had the Hirsch Venison which was perfectly cooked and tasted excellent. The menu had some great selections but I definitely made a good choice. Our friends said Huett'n also does an excellent Cordon Blau and also Venison Stew. We had good service and good beer and schnapps. The locals all seemed like... More

Came here for lunch with a friend and it was really nice. The food was of a really good quality with generous portions and there were a good selection of beers to choose from. Menu is very traditional but one of the better executions in town in my opinion. Staff were very busy as we came during the Xmas market... More

Situated in the old town not far from Durer house. Despite the modern building outside the restaurant is decorated in typical Bavarian style. Given the large tables you may have to eat with other people and, other than language difficulties, it may be interesting. Good beer, good food: we tried different kinds of sausages and "Bratwürste", Schweinebraten and, we ordered... More
