Good local fayre

Good food and wine/beer. Seemed reasonably priced to me. Good service although it was quite quiet the night we ate there. Waitress was very helpful.

Terrible service and poor food... The worst place ever visited in Germany, really unprofessional. Absolutely not suggested.

While the restaurant was decent enough and the food acceptable, the service made a mistake and the customer has to pay for it As especially pointed out by the supervisor! Scenario, main course order wrongly taken, I had to choose to keep or change, at no time where we informed we had to pay for their screw up! So either... More

Great lunch. Cozy atmosphere. Good beer and wine selection and awesome schnitzel . If you want great food and eat with locals, here is the place.

Chose to eat here as next to the hotel we were staying and it was quite late in the evening. Downstairs full so sat in the upstairs room which was delightful and cosy. Food was excellent, some of the best pork I have ever tasted and at very reasonable cost. Service was satisfactory and non-intrusive

This is a great place for local food. The restaurant is located near the entrace to the old town, which is where our hotel is located so it is very convenient for us. We had the pork shoulder, Nuremberg sausages, salad and soup plus 2 beers, cost around 40 Euro. Both the ambience and the food are above average. Would... More

We did not know it is part of a hotel which worries us and this time we were right. It was overpriced for what we had and the service was disappointing. It was impersonal and very fast as if they wanted to get us in and out. We had a pretzel (which was nothing at all), an excellent salad and... More

We were a group of 30 or so people that booked a private room at Pillhofer for a 3 course dinner. Although some communication was lacking prior to our trip, the service on the actual date by Martina and her staff was impeccable and oustanding. Our meals were cooked to perfection and all food was exactly as ordered. The staff... More

Our group of 40 each had a choice of 2 soup or salad, 4 entrees and 2 deserts. Everyone was very happy with their meals, Good quality and presentation, and good quantity too. Genuine German cuisine to boot. Affordable too. Recommended highly.

The Pillhofer offers a limited, but genuine, selection of traditional German dishes and beers. The menu is very easy to understand, with English translations. We opted for the 500gr pork shoulder which was cooked to perfection, complete with crackling. Service was very friendly and efficient. The ambience is typical of a Bavarian pub, with lots of cosy dark hardwoods. Nothing... More
