My family and I went to this restaurant for lunch because it was highly rated on trip advisor. We were expecting the typical german food (brats, sauerkraut, etc.). Instead, it was a very expensive restaurant that specializes in game meat -- they had a limited menu with things like rabbits, venison, etc. Most of the other clients looked very finely... More

Traditional, old fashion style restaurant that specialises in game. Truly nice experience, good service, great food, priced well, absolutely worth a visit.

The restaurant is in a well heeled area just north of the Residenz, and has a well heeled clientel. It could be described as bourgeois, in the nicest possible way. It is comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the service from greeting to departure was attentive and friendly. There were probably equal numbers of older affluent and young smart casual German... The food is excellent, and the service impeccable. Unfortunately, their bar is somewhat limited, but we managed by substituting a vodka tonic for the usual Cosmo. As an entree, I ordered the veal filet, which was excellent. My husband chose their version of sauerbraten with spatzle, which was equally good. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We went to this restaurant on business dinner and our hosts had to tell us about this restaurant as you won't come across this place easily. The restaurant was busy but still cosy and with a very neat athmosphere, the service was very nice and helpful - speaking German-English according to our needs. The starter was pretty small but the... More

Excellent food, excellent unobtrusive service. Style is 'gourmet Bavarian' and is the best of its kind we have ever had. The only slight negative was the drinks: the Chablis was listed as a 2010 (an excellent vintage, and drinking now) but all that was actually available was a too-young 2011 (a less good vintage), at the same price, and the... We reserved online very easily. When we arrived at opening time and the time of our reservation, the place was pretty empty. By the time we finished our meal, it was full. We were by far the youngest couple there and likely the only foreigners. Very good service and food. Tasty, upscale versions of eastern euro comfort food. Only issue... More

The food is very very good. Sometimes the dishes are very small but the food is so good it doesn't matter anymore! I love the liver sausage there !!

Halali is an exceptional restaurant. We found it on the Michelin guide, but It is by far underestimated by it. It would deserve at least one Michelin star instead of a plane mention. Food is traditional German but interpreted with outstanding talent and balance. We tried both the pre-set dinner menu and a personal choice form the tempting list. Everything... More

This is a very fine German restaurant, with a traditional yet refined atmosphere and service, and superb food. The menu is a mix of traditional food with an updated touch, but far from the "trendy" concepts of "nouvelle cuisine" ("nothing in the plate, and all in the bill..."). It is not cheap, but top quality seldom is. Anyway, the prices... More
