Arrived here on our first night in Munich. The hotel recommended this place for authentic traditional food. Yes, they delivered. Not the best but good & a good value. Didn't have reservations so they sat us at a table with fellow Americans & we ended up making new friends. Such a fun atmosphere! Will most likely go back before we... More

The Hofbraukeller is the sister (brother?) restaurant and beer hall to the famous Hofbrauhaus. It serves the same beer and a slightly more limited menu. But I prefer this place because it's less touristy and friendlier. Start with the beer - as far as I can tell, it's exactly the same selection. Almost all beer available in Munich is good... More

First off much better than the places in the center that seem to be tourist traps with prices to match. Close to Hilton Munich so we wandered down here a couple of times. The beer was good and we were amazed to see families arriving with picnics, sit at a table order some beer and have a good time. Strongly... More

This review is limited to the Biergarten and the food there; I did not try the restaurant, although I understand it comes highly recommended. This is a moderately-sized Biergarten just off of the Wienerplatz (Vienna Square) in the Haidhausen district of Munich, not far from the Gasteig and with quite a bit of history behind it. It is a rather... More

We came here our first night in Munich since it was near our rented apartment - it was so good! We found the service friendly, the beer delicious! It was so good, that we came back our last night as well (after a disappointing meal the night before at Augustiner) - very authentic and delicious! The beer garden looked fun... More

Had planned to meet with friends in the Biergarten for Birthday celebrations, but due to rain decided to spend the afternoon/evening inside. Decor, atmosphere and menu; traditionally Bavarian. Friendly, but service was slow. Good alternative to the Keller's downtown.

The amazing shade of the trees make any summer day a celebration day here. If you are new to biergartens, you need to know that you can bring your picnic but you must purchase drinks here. In any case, a nice simple menu has a bit of everything for all. In the evening you can only buy beer by the... More
