Enjoy the historic atmosphere of medieval Munich in one of the most beautiful locations in the historic city centre. In the lovingly restored vaults of the dukes mill dating back to 1573 we are offering upscale Bavarian cuisine and fine Franconian wines alongside famed and freshly brewed Ayinger draft beer from the families brewery. In the Pfistermuhle there are four vaults with more altogether 95 seats. Thirty additional seats are available in the beer garden in Summer.

We went to to this restaurant after we were intimidated by the crowds at Hofbrauhaus. This is nearby. It was a good choice as it was a wonderful meal, in a elegant cozy setting. Excellent service - my wife had salmon and I had the steak, both excellent and accompanied with a glass of house wine and the restaurants beer... More

We do enjoy traditional Bavarian fate and Ayinger beer is excellent. Indeed some thirty plus years ago we had the beer delivered to our apartment when we lived there! This restaurant is a slightly more recent evolution if the Ayinger family. The setting is old and delightful and in the Platzl hotel (which is excellent). The food is regional, but... More

We had a group of six for dinner. Our hotel made reservations in advance so they had a nice spot set aside for us. The staff was very attentive the food was very good. Be careful with preferences on cooking as Medium rare was a bit raw. It was easy to overlook this as everything else was splendid. Worth another... More

For those who are underwhelmed by German cuisine, please try this restaurant! We tried this restaurant mid-way through a 3-week Germany trip and found it to be excellent. While it was "regional", the preparation, presentation, etc. were top notch and speaks to the high ratings for this restaurant. The interior is quite traditional, and very pleasant. Service was excellent, and... More

The pity is that this restaurant has a lot going for it. Very nice old-fashioned ambience, conveniently sited, friendly and efficient staff and, apparently, local cuisine. The problem is that the portions are minimal - this includes all the courses. To make matters worse, the small portion of suckling pig was mostly fat. It is a relatively expensive restaurant and... Dear Shropshirelad29, Thank you very much for your response. It is a pity to hear that you had the impression of too small portions of food especially in the case of suckling pig. It is our proposition to serve the best quality of food and it is also a pleasure to serve some supplement if requested. It would be a... More

On June 5th, 2015, around 7 pm, we walked around to check out Munich old town area, spotted this quiet place. Tables were available. Asked for a table for 4. The waiter told us to check their menu first because he thought they were pricy (for us). Shocked and speechless, we just walked away. Won't spend one single penny at... More

Dear AtlGa15, I am very sorry for the impression you got of the Restaurant on June 5th. It is definitely not our intention to make any differences in our guests. I am sure it was a big misunderstanding and the waiter just tried to bypass the waiting time, in general we do not reserve tables on the patio but some... More

We dined here the last night of our 2 week European trip and couldn't have asked for a better farewell dinner. Our son said his salmon was the best he had ever tasted; and my wife and I shared a prime rib prepared to perfection. I thought the ambiance was very nice and our waitress was attentive and very sweet.... More

The Restaurant attached to the Platzl Hotel is a warren of small rooms which contributes to a feeling of coziness; add to that the wait staff in full Bavarian regalia and you have a charming combination. The service was excellent and the food was very good. They even made several accommodations from the kitchen to help my gluten free husband.... More
