Modern twist on German favorites

Good place for a more upscale meal or just a break from beer and a chance to try local wines. Building is full of history. The outdoor eating is on a more quiet street. Food has been top notch every time we've been here.

When we first walked in, my impression was that Neuner was a bit dark and old fashioned but attractive. Even though it was listed in Michelin, I was wary. The staff was very helpful despite the fact that there was no English menu. The server explained everything clearly and even navigated the intricacies of my husband's gluten free needs with... More

Given the beautiful building in which it is located, our hopes for this restaurant were high. However, the interior was somewhat tired and the restaurant lacked atmosphere, possibly due to English-speaking tourists making up the majority of diners on this occasion. Our main courses were very rich and heavy, which contrary to some opinions is not a prerequisite for German... More

I have been to Weinhaus Neuter a number of times and the food is consistently good. It is Bavarian cooking but more refined than the usual beer houses. Last night was no exception. As it is in season, they had a whole selection of dishes centred around asparagus - I had the schnitzel and white asparagus - great. The German... More

I had been to Weinhaus Neuer often in the past, both for professional dinner meetings and lunch discussions. I had been more than satisfied with the quality price ratio, but, what was best was the professional nature of the servers and their dedication to their customers. Unfortunately, the service staff has changed dramatically over the past year or so ---... More

I had a solo lunch here, and found the atmosphere beautiful and comfortable. Candles were lit, the tables well set, and the table settings quite nice. I ordered white wine and still water, the waiter brought red wine and sparkling water. I can't fault them much, as I ordered in English. The menus are German only. At the waiters suggestion,... I am giving this restaurant full marks for the overall experience I enjoyed. A welcoming environment - all the staff I encountered were super friendly. Our server was entertaining without being invasive. The atmosphere was nice. In terms of the food, I tried something I've never had before - Crispy Bavarian Farmer's Duck. It was good but portion size could... More

This very popular and highly traditional Munich restaurant offers excellent Bavarian food at reasonable prices. As you would expect from the name there is a reasonably voluminous wine list with many good choices. Professional staff. if you like this type of hearty food this restaurant is a very good choice,

Tasty food, beautiful decor and attentive service - all up a fantastic and relaxed dinner. Decent variety of wine from all over the Europe. Dessert is a must! Will recommend it to anyone!

My boyfriend picked this restaurant for me as a treat after a day of sightseeing in Munich. We were the first guests when it opened at 6pm but we were made to feel very welcome. The menu had a good range of choices and we asked for wine to be matched to the choices that we made. The waitress did... More
