Wanted to love it...

I had a solo lunch here, and found the atmosphere beautiful and comfortable. Candles were lit, the tables well set, and the table settings quite nice. I ordered white wine and still water, the waiter brought red wine and sparkling water. I can't fault them much, as I ordered in English. The... read more

I am giving this restaurant full marks for the overall experience I enjoyed. A welcoming environment - all the staff I encountered were super friendly. Our server was entertaining without being invasive. The atmosphere was nice. In terms of the food, I tried something I've never had before - Crispy Bavarian Farmer's Duck. It was good but portion size could... More

This very popular and highly traditional Munich restaurant offers excellent Bavarian food at reasonable prices. As you would expect from the name there is a reasonably voluminous wine list with many good choices. Professional staff. if you like this type of hearty food this restaurant is a very good choice,

Tasty food, beautiful decor and attentive service - all up a fantastic and relaxed dinner. Decent variety of wine from all over the Europe. Dessert is a must! Will recommend it to anyone!

My boyfriend picked this restaurant for me as a treat after a day of sightseeing in Munich. We were the first guests when it opened at 6pm but we were made to feel very welcome. The menu had a good range of choices and we asked for wine to be matched to the choices that we made. The waitress did... More

While the menu was in German, our waiter cheerfully informed us he would translate for us. The prawn app I had was excellent and the so was the pulled pork. My husband said the steak dinner was average but my lamb was quite good. Their specialty is duck so he highly recommended it. The local German red wine is a... More

This a very nice restaurant with perfect meal and service. My wife ordered gourmet menu, it was absolutely excellent - extremely good was spargel-kartoffel ravioli. And my foie gras, gurken suppe and onglet spezialcut were really above average. Perfect choice of wines and spirits. Highly recommends

We had a great diner here - the staff speak good English and helped us work out what we wanted. We shared a salad and then had the such and venison. The duck was fantastic - a half duck with various accompaniments. The venison came with spatzle. the food was delicious. We also tried couple of different wines - a... More

If you're looking for a traditional beer hall at the heart of town then this is it. Seemingly unchanged for years (or tastefully restored post war) this a dark beer hall with lots of small tables. It had the permanently busy ambience of a place where the locals go regularly, but welcomes strangers and tourists. Finding a table easily (being... More

We were a group of five visiting on a Monday evening in late May. I doubt much has changed regarding the decor since it opened. It's very atmospheric with dark wood dominating the dinning room. If in season, I recommend their asparagus dishes. I tried the black pudding, Bavarian ham starter as well. I enjoyed the combinations of strong flavors.... More
