A real treat in the heart of Munich

Went last night and was pleasantly suprised to be greeted at the door by name. Dinner was spectacular - music and temperature was perfect. Highlights were the foie gras terrine and the chocolate souffle. Would recommend the gourmet menu - €195. The wine is expensive (€40 for a glass of 1990 red... read more

We've been here on a Thursday night and looking back I can't remember anything special. The service was not focused and portions quite big and ssommelier a trainee. In restaurants this class and that price I want to feel special. Here we were just anyone. In general we are used to some friendly small talk but here it was just... More

After long busy day in Munich we decided to have a light dinner. Google maps brought us to Tantris, which was a walking distance from our hotel. We were met with not hidden astonishment on the faces. After being asked about our booking and certain hesitation we were seated separately from others. Only after looking around we understood the reason... More

The food was fantastic, the wine pairing outstanding, the prices out of this world. They always had the wine pairing menu and it was an excellent dinner with a good price performance ratio. Now they have splitted the pricing and the "simple" menu comes in at 150 and the wine ontop with 80 Euros. So with a little apero you... More

Although it is a very dramatic and striking interior, the kitchen had a few issues the night we were there. My wife and I ate there on a recommendation from the Mandarin hotel. We both decided to have the five course dinner. The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable and the service was great through the first 3 courses. Then,... More

To say this restaurant has a lot going on decor wise is a major understatement - the colors, the animal statues, the light sculptures, etc...were all a lot to take in. We were so distracted trying to take it all in, our waiter had to come back three times before we could figure out what drink we wanted to start... More

Our meal at Tantris was perfect. The staff were amiable and efficient. The restaurant decor was somewhat unusual - lots of orange-red, brass/gold accents, ceramic gargoyles, and smoked glass - but the overall effect was actually quite serene. The sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly, the food was wonderful. We tried the five-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Each... More

I had another christmas dinner at Tantris and it was great again. first of all I really love the extraordinary funky setting of the Tantris ... the beasts, the colors, the unusual decoration etc. but of course, the food is why we go there ... we had a five course menu which was consistently fantastic and on star level ...... Nicely dressed, but without blazer and suit, we were received with raised eyebrows. After having to convince them to give us a table we were seated in the middle of that silent place where people seemed afraid to talk. We ordered housemade ravioli and lamb. After a spectacular and exaggerated wine-swivelling the food arrived. Drowned in butter. The ravioli must... More

The 2 stars say pretty much everything. Service was friendly and could handle humour. One of ours guests arrived a bit late which however was no problem for them. Very flexible, tasty food, superb wine card. Big downside was the Host/Restaurant manager!? (Partly bold man in his 50ies, slightly chubby) He seemed to be the supervisor at the entrance with...
