Unique French/Jamaican food served in an atmosphere filled with warmth. The setting is cosy and romantic, with candles, lovely decor and soft music. The service is delightful and friendly. The food has very interesting flavours and the apple gratin is one of the best desserts I have ever tried! Well worth a visit.

I am kind of worried when I give 5 stars as I tend to think I exaggerated. But with Makassar it is hard to find a reason not to give such rating ! The place is located in beautiful part of Munich at the quiet street with outside seating. Menu is very reach and diversified. Everything from fish soup, frutti... More

This is my first visit to Makassar but surely not the last. This elegant small restaurant is a party in itself. The welcoming fresh arrangement of bright flowers give you a first 'hello'. Host-manager-owners are a great part of the ambiance. Friendly, funny, and warm staff. Plating is visually inviting, cocktails are unique and you can taste the fresh ingredients,... More

We had a bad experience there last night. Our orders were forgotten and we waited for more than 1 hour until they notice that something was wrong. Then instead of giving us priority we had to wait another 1 hour just to get our salads. As a way to apologize we were bribed with some schnapps and homemade nachos. That... More

I went there to have dinner with my boyfriend. It was his choice and I can say it was 100% worthy! If to start from the beginning, we had some issues with reservation. We were calling during the day time and no one replied. Even though, they are opened from 6pm till 1 am, still I think they should make... More

We rang up at 7pm for a table that night and they couldn't be more accommodating. Very friendly when we arrived, they had a lovely table reserved for us and it was the only empty table in the restaurant. the place was buzzing, lots of young couples, families and groups of friends. The food we ordered was amazing, my friend... More

it's a nice place, but not as fabulous as initially expected. if u're a regular guest, they treat u really well. but don't expect that to be the case, if this is your first visit. i found the seating to be very uncomfortable and if u're tall, the tables are definitely too low. food quality is ok, but stays below... Our dinner with friends was excellent. Good and interesting menu, nice and flexible service, lively and relaxed atmosphere. Even with a big private group being present at the same time, we got all attention required. Private parking lot. We'll visit this place again when back to Munich.

We go to Makassar two to four times a year and it has never disappointed. We've been there for romantic dinners, we've taken business clients and we've even been there twice with a baby (before she started crawling or walking and just slept in her stroller) and the staff was always so friendly and quick with a joke. I wouldn't... More

I was in Munich on a business trip. A friend told me about the Makassar, so we went. The food was excellent, the drinks strong and made me feel I was on a remote island. The service was outstanding, friendly and always good for a little bit of humor. When you go try the fish balls or scallops as appetizers.... More
