An excellent dinner

We went based on other trip advisor reviews. Food was good but very limited. Very few items on the menu. With a husband with food allergies, he didn't have many choices. It's also a very small restaurant so you sit near lots of other people. Food was good but not sure I would go out of my way to visit... More

Food prepared with care and taste.. Beautiful kitchen and a staff with a very high level of professionalism. Quality ingredients. Small dining room so plan accordingly.

So, after days of feeling hungry and unsatisfied with German cuisine, I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and wasn't hungry anymore. I was staying close to the train station, and this was just a block away. Found it for convenience, but will go out of my way to return on my next trip. Small, warm and inviting, I actually took... I have lunch here quite often, excellent varied menu and accompanying wines by the glass. Service is very attentive and helpful. Prices are quite high but I have never been dissapointed so would definitely return. One minor niggle is that some of the tables are too close together.

This place is hard to find. Almost unnoticeable from the street. So use Hotel Excelsior as a goal. Since we didn't have reservation, there were no room for us in a very cozy looking (and small) restaurant. But we were kindly directed to the Bar. They have the same menu there and very pleasant space as well. Service was perfect,... More

When in Munich, we always have at least one meal at Geisel's Vinothek, or two, if time. The food is consistently top value and of gourmet quality. Last time, in late November 2010 , we had pumpkin soup with ginger and then cod for the mains: both to die for. About the wine: We just ask for a white from... More

We had a wonderful meal in this small restaurant attached to the Hotel Excelsior. At the beginning of the meal and whilst we were eating the service was extremely attentive and the waiting staff were always on hand to assist with your choice of wine from the vast menu. Not a fan of German wine myself I was very pleasantly... More

Excellent Bavarian food with a very good selection of German and other wines at very fair prices. The service was friendly and helpful - - I was alone, but was not shunted to a crummy table as so often happens.

Nice relaxed meal in the comfy chairs. Great food. Worth going to Munich for the Creme Brulee
