Great downstairs deli & upstairs cafe

Great cheese selection (I snuck some back to the states with me). The cafe upstairs is good for a quick coffee/tea break, although you need reservations to sit alongside the wall to have the direct view of the park, it wasn't crowded when I went but all the window seats were taken.

Dallmayr is a gastronomic landmark for us in Munich. Gourmet food, coffee, cheese and chocolate and all those other goodies that would make you happy. Located just at the heat of Marienplatz, it is definitely worth a visit. You can also eat inside which is great fun. For coffee lovers, I definitely recommend Prodomo coffee both as whole beans or... The beautiful window displays drew me in, where I found even greater beauty in the food cases. Bought a unique gift of a small five-minute tea timer with tiny gold grains. I'm smiling as I write this review, the store is so heavenly.

If you choose not to purchase any food items make sure you stop by this wonderful shop - just to "window shop" if nothing else! Conveniently located behind Marienplatz!

Dined at Dallmayr last Saturday with Mrs 1960. All the trappings of a Michelin starred eaterie. Nice understated surroundings, low-level music, tables nicely spread out. Entrance unusual, up stairs from high-class delicatessen shop (think Fortnum & Mason). Staff all quite young. All very friendly - not too stiff and formal and not flawless. Attentive with drinks. Sommelier, picked a lovely... More

Recommended by one of our tour guides when we asked where to find some sweet mustard to take home. Walked in and were in heaven! Everything you can think of - alcohol, chocolate, pastries, fish, meats, dairy and cheese, coffee . . . We walked in for some mustard and left with mustard, sausages, petit fours (best I've ever had!),... More

If you can get round the very strange queuing system, it's well worth a vist to this fantastic coffee shop. Great selection of drinks, snacks and cakes. Efficient and friendly staff all immaculately dressed. On the pricey side but a great experience. Remember to purchase some chocolate to take home from the shop!

This is less review of Dallmayr then letter of thanks to Jana. Dallmayr is always busy and even more so on weekends. Advent however is another story altogether. There is a security guard in front of the door and the venerable place is literally brimming with people. After a long drive to Munich we arrived with three children and without... More

I would compare Dallymayr to the food section of Harrods in London. Everything was decorated well and there was a good selection of high end food goods and also alcohol. We tried 2 cakes and both were pretty good. 2 single serve cakes cost 9 Euros which is pretty reasonable.

Very cute and buzzing delicatessen/restaurant. Dallymar pretty much has everything you can think of and lots of locals come here to shop for groceries. There's a restaurant above (be sure to make a rezzy), and a cafe on the first floor. There's also little tables in the deli area for those who want to pick and choose little things and... More
