During the week I spent in Munich at the Hotel Torbrau, I visited Schapeau on three or four occasions, usually for coffee and one of the delicious desserts this restaurant serves. All the staff are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is impeccably clean. It is really a classy place. When in Munich, give this restaurant a try.

The restaurant is attached to the Hotel Torbrau (where I stayed). The service is very good and the food is great. They have a good wine list, with lots of options of wine by the glass. Definitely worth checking it out.

Here you will get the whole package when it comed to restaurants, with delicious food (although not too much food, french style), excelent service and tranquil atmosphere (beautiful decoration, live piano). The price was not too much for what you get, but it's not cheap. Recommended!

We stayed at the Hotel Torbrau and ate at Schapeau three nights. The food was fabulous - different interpretations of dishes like Beef Strogonoff were superb. We worked our way through the menu and every dish was great. The service was also a stand-out. Very friendly staff who made our night really special. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant to others... More

The food tasted good, but was a bit overprized and most important, the service was extremely slow!!Half an hour for a "sandwich" at three in the afternoon when everyone had been already served and the guy at the counter was cleaning glasses and tidying up (without considering us, not even to take orders) I think is to much!

We ate at this restaurant while staying at Hotel Torbrau. The decor and service was impeccable. Konrad was exceptional as our server. We had Beef Strogonoff and it was delicious. A pleasant way to end the day!

We stayed at the adjoining hotel for three days and enjoyed lunch and dinner at Schapeau. The prices are very reasonable and in my opinion you get a lot more than the price tag would lead you to believe. Staff are attentive, courteous and brought us a welcome dish on arrival - wow! Thanks Schapeau for adding to a fantastic... More

The chef is young and has an ambitious repertoire that he updates regularly. Everything is beautifully prepared, very fresh.

I found Schapeau on Tripadvisor in an effort to go for something a little lighter than the other traditional German pork-heavy meals I've had (and enjoyed a great deal). As luck would have it, Schapeau is the Torbraeu Hotel's restaurant, where I am staying. First off, I got a "welcome plate", which for me is always a good sign for... More

We stayed at the Torbrau for 4 nights and ate here 2 of the 4 because it was so good. Wiener schnitzel was fantastic, ordered it twice. Fresh bread with unique spreads and butters (they were different both nights). Beautifully prepared local foods (lots of asparagus when we were there) and a charming, friendly staff. It is pricey but worth... More
