Rustic and informal, this Schwabing restaurant allows you to feel like a local even if you are not one. Young and enthusiastic servers make it easy to order off the seasonal menu that also has the classics all for a reasonable price. As my husband had already visited and raved about the bavarian duck, we were a disappointed that it... More

A simple place to look at but very busy, and the second time we couldn't even get in. Good food, good value...

Gasthaus Weinbauer was a great first dinner on our Munich vacation. The place was full of locals (yet they did have a somewhat out of date English menu), the food was excellent and service was friendly. Of course, the beer was excellent with several Hacker-Pschorr brews on tap, including a special brew from a barrel.

"Weinbauer" is a very nice restaurant in Schwabing. The food is great and it's not very expensive. Fair for that quality. The service is very good and the atmosphere as well! Try the "Weinbauer-Schnitzel" or the "Schweinsbraten". They are so good and maybe the best in this district. I always had a great time there!!!

Great meal and beer at an authentic Bavarian restaurant catering more to the local crowd than tourists. It helps when you go with a native (as we did) but you cannot go wrong with the food. The wait staff isn't engaging by any means but you don't come for the banter with the waiter. Go for the food. Large portions,... More

I have only had schnitzel a few other times, but I can definitely say this was the best I've had so far! Gasthaus Weinbauer is known for their honey mustard schnitzel and I have to agree that it's a must have! My sister also got a chicken salad which she said was delicious. Just from looking around, all the food... More

A hidden gem, just off Leopoldstrasse, not yet discovered by masses of tourists. On most evenings you will meet plenty of patrons, who frequently (some even daily) come in for drinks and food. Reservations are highly recommended. Place offers good Bavarian fare (for those who like that sort of thing) and the best beer on tap we had in Munich.... More
