Tracked down the "Schmalznudel" and added an espresso for a jet lag repair. Good stuff! Freshly prepared. Munich's answer to an upscale funnel cake. Service was quick. Atmosphere was inviting with several seating area options as the Cafe goes on and on. The trek to find the "nudel", through a beautiful outdoor market and beer garden added to the fun.... More

Not a very long menu - but the Schmalznudel was everything a great doughnut should be - freshly prepared and light. Friendly staff good choice of drinks. Don't leave Munich without a visit.

I'm glad I tried this once, but with so many good cafés offering a wide variety of delicious pastries in Munich, I'm not sure what people find so great about this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but the Schmalznudel just sort of sat there like lead in my tummy. I guess you have to be a doughnut lover... More

This splice is fantastic; when you need a break OR if you've been before you are addicted; the staff is wonderful and the fried and sugared "donuts" (not exactly that shape) are to die for. It's hard to stop yourself from having several especially when they are still warm. OMG, they are fabulous.

This place is legendary in Munich and very few people know of it. Schmalznudel is a traditional Bavarian desert which is served here and its absolutely delicious! Have it with your coffee or tea. If your in the area definitely pop in, you wont regret it.

When reading through the recent reviews of this restaurant, my mouth waters with sweat memories of this crowdy, but extremely sympathetic place. 3 different kinds of gorgeous Schmalznudels are served there. You won't regret it to taste them all!

Been in Munich without tasting Bavaria for real is a shame. Schmalznudel is a tasteful Bavarian desert you should absolutely try along your coffee, tea or hot chocolate they serve there.

We stopped here, based on the recommendations from TripAdvisor. Fried doughnuts were fresh and very good. Only problem? We didn't know to ask for them to be dipped in cinnamon sugar. We noticed locals coming in and ordering with sugar - AFTER we already ate. So, they were fresh and warm, but could have been better. Hot chocolate was outstanding... More

The most scrumptious "Schmalz" pastry ever. So so so delicious! Try the Schmalznudeln!!! You won't regret it. Deliciously light and ever so pleasing to the palate. Such a lovely little cafe. The Virkutalien market across from it is a must!!!!! You can eat your way through it.....delish delish!!!!

I was walking past and noticed a guy frying dough, when cooked they look like flying saucers dipped in sugar. They are lovely though and even better with nice cup of coffee. Not good for the waistline but if you're on holiday the that's OK. Loved the cafe and will take friends who visit for a real German experience.
