It is former brewery. A lot of local people. Really huge portions for little price in contrast with different restaurants in Munich. All is very tasty! Amazing knuckle and good choice of beer as in all Germany. But! We were served a bad waiter! He ignored the dirty dishes on our table. Don't ask us about food or service. After... More

You get what you go for, so that is a good thing. Huge portions of tourist/drinker oriented food (tasted generic but OK) served with efficiency and allowing you enough room and freedom to do what you want. The Augustiner label is the most honourable - in our opinion - of the Munich breweries, and the beer is also our favourite.... More

This place was suggested to us by the desk staff at the Hotel Bavaria, just a few blocks away. We are SO glad we were sent here. We LOVED the interior of this place. It looked and felt like a brewery. The food was great and authentic. Beer was our favorite of all the five beer halls we visited while... More

For a typical Bavarian food experience, this central restaurant is worth a visit. The food is good and wholesome and the portions are quite generous. Service is casual but friendly and efficient. It was good enough to visit twice in two days.

During our multi-day visit to Munich, my wife and I decided that, rather than go to traditional restaurants, we would try to hit multiple beer halls for dinner. We don't drink much so beer alone wouldn't satisfy us. Indeed, each beer hall proved to be different from another (offering a somewhat different style and a quite different location) and, as... More

Great choice of food and drink and pretty cheap for Munich. 5,50€ for 1l pilsner. Only complaint would be that everybody didn't get their food at the same time, and one person had to wait quite a while. Great place with great atmosphere. Would try to reserve a table if going in a big group.

Highly recommended!! Great Bavarian beer. Cold and delicious! 1 litre just isn't enough of this stuff! I ate the brewman's dinner, which was a variety of deliciously cooked meats. The missus had the pork roast which was equally as delicious, some of the best crackling we have ever had. The only downside of the communal tables is you look around... More

Dining out less good compared to other places we visited and the beer in my opinion was not the tastiest we've had drunk.

The best beer from Munich for sure! Augustiner beer is so tasteful that you can recognize it out of so other many good beers from Munich... really really nice place where tables and seats are built on top of barrels, like the ones they store the beer... environment is fantastic, so happy and the attendants are really nice. Also the... More
