This is probably my favorite beer hall of all. It lacks the flair of some of the big, well-known ones but gains points in quality and ambiance. From the outside you would think this is a hole in the wall pub. Upon entry, it opens as if some magical spell has expanded the place to 10 times the... read more

This is a very late review. We visited in September 2010 and only just realised that I hadn't reviewed. What a place! We first visited at 6.30pm on a Tuesday and it was absolutely packed. The beer is some of the best we have ever tasted, and a good price too. We returned the following night for a few more... More

It was our fist night in Munich and it was a Sunday, many places were closed. We picked this one on Yelp and it turned out to be very close to our hotel. Again make sure you have reservation because we did not but we got a table and they said we have 2 hours to eat, which was fine.... More

After arriving at the hotel we were starving and the staff suggested we try this place. Wasn't disappointed! The food was good and plenty and the prices were average. Being satisfied with it we went the next evening but it was way too crowded and we had to "fight" for a table.

One of the best places to go to for an authentic Bavarian dinner and lots of cheap home brewed beer! We had a huge dinner for a decent price. However the waiters were too busy and a little unfriendly, practically tipping himself and getting angry at my friend who decided not to tip.

We had pork knuckles and felt the quality was not bad. Service was also pretty spot-on, considering that we visited during lunch where there wasn't so many people yet. Beer was also good. Be prepared to share a table though, even during non-busy periods.

Food was good, beer was great, service could be better. The server didn't feel like translating the daily specials. Nice brick work on the ceilings.

I may hate noise and crowds and public drunkenness, but being a reasonable man, I make an exception to get to this place every time I'm in Munich. It's located at the end of the brewery that makes the great beer it serves up. While I normally consume almost two six packs per year of PBR, I go through two... More

Be prepared to share a table with others quick to become friends. You may want a reservation, but we were lucky to grab two seats when a pair finished. We had to walk through the restaurant and ask servers if they had any seats in their area - but our server was very friendly and quick to get us these... More

In this restaurant you can eat very good food especially, of course, German dishes and also drink an incredible beer directly spilled from the barrel !!!
