Remember this is a beer hall! If you need fine dining and people being quite whilst waiting for food, stay away. This is a great beer hall and definitely in the top 3 in Munich. If you miss this you are missing the whole point of beer!

I was in Munich for three days and wanted to make sure that I experienced a beer hall that was not full of tourist (like the Hofbräuhaus). After doing some research, I found the Augustiner Bräustuben, and I'm happy I did. The service was very quick; we were immediately seated at a long table and our beer orders were taken.... More

It is former brewery. A lot of local people. Really huge portions for little price in contrast with different restaurants in Munich. All is very tasty! Amazing knuckle and good choice of beer as in all Germany. But! We were served a bad waiter! He ignored the dirty dishes on our table. Don't ask us about food or service. After... More

we go here now and again and always say we should go more often! really cheap and good value, and the menu has a wide choice of food. we were served by Okan who was so friendly and spoke English. our food was soooo yummy and arrived quickly. great atmosphere, if you are lucky you might see a barrel of... Billed as the favorite beer of the locals, trying Augustiner is a must. Just as Coors was only found near Colorado for decades, Augustiner is not pasteurized and is best sampled locally in Munich. SAVOR THE AUGUSTINER!

Went to the restaurant with a large group. There were 10 of us and we could only finish half of each course. I think food was OK (you can find better food, check my other reviews!), but there was a great buzz in the atmosphere like how you'd imagined a beer house to be!

You get what you go for, so that is a good thing. Huge portions of tourist/drinker oriented food (tasted generic but OK) served with efficiency and allowing you enough room and freedom to do what you want. The Augustiner label is the most honourable - in our opinion - of the Munich breweries, and the beer is also our favourite.... More

This place was suggested to us by the desk staff at the Hotel Bavaria, just a few blocks away. We are SO glad we were sent here. We LOVED the interior of this place. It looked and felt like a brewery. The food was great and authentic. Beer was our favorite of all the five beer halls we visited while... More

For a typical Bavarian food experience, this central restaurant is worth a visit. The food is good and wholesome and the portions are quite generous. Service is casual but friendly and efficient. It was good enough to visit twice in two days.
