Description: Situated directly by the Frauenkirche in the heart of Munich, this restaurant has been in family hands for many generations and offers everything you would typically associate with Munich and Bavarian hospitality. Whether it is for a quick break or a more substantial meal such as shank with dumplings, you will find value for money here. As a particularly unique feature, Tarte Flambée with a variety of fillings is served at 16:30. Another feature unveils itself in the summer, when you can sit at tables on the street and watch the hustle and bustle pass by. Because of this enviable position in the middle of the city, the Augustiner am Dom is an ideal stopping point on your shopping trip, great for regaining your energy! With lots of smaller and larger rooms, not to mention its beer garden in the inner courtyard, the restaurant can accommodate all kinds of events.

Simply the best Bavarian food while we stayed in Munich, it was cheaper than eating at Oktoberfest, bigger portion, quieter environment and wonderful service.

I have had dinner here with some colleagues in Aug 2014 on outside terrace. Very nice atmosphere. Good food and delicious beer. Tables seems to me a little too cramped but maybe this is because they had a lot of clients. It is located in an old building next to Frauenkirche and near Marienplatz (just 5 minutes walk in a... Surprisingly lacklustre and inattentive service. They really should up their game considering the competition literally next door. Good value and tasty food.

Maybe our waiter was having a bad day. A very, very bad day. He was about as hospitable as arsenic. The place was packed, loud, looked like it would be fun - but finding a table was difficult. The waiter plopped us down at the end of a table of other diners - which was ok but he did it... More

Visited this restaurant/pub today and was very impressed. It is in a lovely location next to the Frauenkirche. The food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. The staff speak English and you can ask for English menus also. The bill for what we had which included drinks, two courses and coffee was reasonable of the centre of a city.

Excellent food, service and location! Ambiance is cozy and casual - great for either a small group or romantic dinner for two.

I've seen this called a tourist trap but for me, I wanted good food at a reasonable price and this hit the mark. I had a sausage selection and my partner chicken. Main cost 13 euro and the beers very very good. We sat outside however the inside has ambiance of a German Beer hall. We speak English but we... More

More of the same Bavarian fare and beer as a higher price than restaurants nearby. Its very well frequented and service is good but why spend more for the same?

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here in a very quaint setting as we sat downstairs - basically the underground sellar. The food was traditional and delicious - I had traditional sausages and sauerkraut - and it was reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend Augistiner am Dom to others - it was a great traditional German restaurant which we believe is... More

This is a classic restaurant and one visit will give you some of the same impressions as the Hofbrauhus or a big tent at Octoberfest. Noisy, brash, awash in beer and bratwurst, it's worth a lunch visit if you must go. Otherwise, leave it to the tourists. If you can go with German friends who know the place, things might... More
