Really nice authentic Italian food and very sympathetic Italian crew. Hidden just opposite Sendlinger Tor, but very central in town.

After a week of eating Bavarian cuisine, I decided to switch things up. I was not disappointed! The service was great and food was awesome. They serve traditional Italian pizza (wide variety) and have good selection of pasta dishes. A nice surprise in Munich!!!

Il Dottore is a hidden Gem in the center of downtown Munich! Everything was amazing from the Detail oriented service to the comfortable interior. The building Il Dottore is in, is from the 1700 and that alone is worth the visit. We were welcomed and treated as if we were family and we ordered authentic Italian food, pizza & pasta.... More

I visited the restaurant and found out that there is no menu in English , many items were not available and those available were price inflated . Also when it came to pay we found items we did not order as billed

By chance I ended up in "Il Dottore", living in Italy I was acutally not wanting to have italian food, however it was excellent! The Service was very efficient and friendly. There is also a Terrace which does look nice, obviously it was closed in the winter. Next time I will be in Munich I will certainly go back there!

We wanted a change from the standard German fare and found this place by mapping restaurants near our hotel - what a great find! We were fortunate enough to have a small table for 2 in the same area as a party of ~10 celebrating a 70th birthday who had hired a guitarist and singer who sounded like Ray Charles.... More

After a long travel day from the US, we stopped here for a late dinner. We were seated in a garden court yard which was a perfect setting. Not wanting anything heavy, my wife ordered the cream of tomato soup and an antipasto plate. She claimed the soup was the best cream of tomato she's ever had. The antipasto plate... More

We went there due to the late arrival and rain in the city. Simple food with waiters pretending to be Italians (at least some of them). Simple pizzas... Caprese with very plain mozzarella .... Don't expect a lot, and you vill be happy.

Food was OK, the menu shows wine by the glass, but, amazingly, there was no wine list given to us (group of 9). When we asked, they managed to fnd a typed sheet of paper with hand-written notes all over it. That said, the Montepulciano was fine....

Not one of the best but at least it is a nice place to have Italian food and pizza. Friendly place , nice service , good menu. If you are for something not very sophisticated but still tasty , go ahead , Il dottore will cure your hunger.
