We enjoyed this restaurant so much, we went twice. Andreas was a wonderful, friendly server with great humour. We tried Wiener schnitzel (best we had in Germany!), cheese spaetzle, horseradish soup, roast pork, goulash, salads, and vegetable antipasti - everything was delicious. And of course beer! Highly recommended restaurant.

Great location in front of the clock. I actually did the German thing and had the weißwurst. It was fantastic and so was the spatzel with cheese. you have to try it, like German mac & cheese.

Over the square from the Hofbrauhaus this restaurant/bar was an excellent choice for some great tasting Bavarian food (we had a mix of meals ranging from trout, chicken, pork and duck) washed down with some excellent Ayinger beers - try the stein of beer from the wooden barrel that they only serve after 5 pm...good service and nice atmosphere.

After reading the many positive tripadvisor reviews of this restaurant, we were excited for a dinner at Wirtshaus Ayingers. The restaurant and patio were well-appointed, and outside was a steady flow of tourists to watch strolling past the restaurant on their way to Hofbrauhaus. The food was typical Bavarian cuisine but without the innate delicious flavor, which the chef attempted... More

After having dinner in a crowded beer halle the previous night, it is a comfort to be able to enjoy a genuine bavarian food and a good beer in a nice quiet old building with history. We knew the main dish portion would be quite big however we still would like to try out the white asparagus. As suggested by... More

The food was wonderful here, if you go during asparagus season we recommend it. A nice more upscale atmosphere with great beer.

Very disappointed on a recent visit, despite spending good money on an earlier visit that day, on our return later on we were refused a table because we would not be ordering any food. The place was only half full, so possibly we should have told them we would be eating later. So beware of the house rules.

The menu is diverse and always updated. The asparagus was in season and the soup was excellent. Be sure to try the ayinger schnitzel. Very good. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and it is old school Munich and the staff are very attentive and just plain nice.
