WOW - the crowds come in when the castle was open, but when the castle closes, we have the this little beautiful street to ourselves! We stayed here for 3 nights - and so glad we did! The castle is the tourist attraction but you can experience the real beauty of the spot only if you stay here. We walked... More

We spent the day, with hundreds of other tourists, visiting the local Neuschwanstein castle. This is located in the little Schwangau village, and is on the main strip of shops and restaurants. It was extremely cold (high 30s F) for May, so we had the asparagus soup and tomato soup with tea and rum. The soups were quite good, and... More

It was a great experience, Bavarian food of the region, service was excellent, staff all had a smile and it's great to see them wearing their traditional outfits. Not too expensive, meals are very hearty but that is expected for the alpine region. The only thing that bothered us was there was a lot of flies that day not sure... More

Excellent restaurant, serving a typical menu of the region. It is one of the three restaurants opened for dinner in Hohenschwangau. The offer is not too wife, but the food is very good and the service very efficient.

The interior of the restaurant is typical alps mountain. The food is very good but might be a bit pricey.

Not too many restaurants open in Hohenschwangau when we visited but this one was great. Recommended to us by the hotel we stayed in (Villa Ludwug) and it became obvious that the Villa Ludwig and the Aplen Stuben are part of the same group. Regardless, the food and service were superb. Good Bavarian fayre served by helpful and polite staff.... More

The Alpenstuben and Villa Ludwig are the same owners. Alpenstuben offers a great hotel/restaurant/gift shop. The staff is fantastic. Great traditional, Bavarian food! Absolutely fantastic!

We have been at Alpenstuben for a lunch during a recent visit of Neuschanstein castle. I have taken Kaiserschmarrn, and it wasn't cooked properly, if you will try Kaiserschmarrn for the first time there you probably will not like it. Waitress that serviced us, didn't even smile and while servicing us was looking at people aside. By the way, my... More
