We have been at Alpenstuben for a lunch during a recent visit of Neuschanstein castle. I have taken Kaiserschmarrn, and it wasn't cooked properly, if you will try Kaiserschmarrn for the first time there you probably will not like it. Waitress that serviced us, didn't even smile and while servicing us was looking at people aside. By the way, my... More

To be honest , the food we ordered tasted quite good. We were hungry, so everything tasted good. However , never order sparking water from this restaurant. When I complained that my water smelled white wine, the writer changed a new glass for me, but still it had the same smell! Obviously they store their water in white wine bottles.

We were visiting Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles and needed to grab some food while waiting for our tour. Close to the ticket office is Alpenstuben which offers traditional German dishes. We had the Jagerschnitzel and the Wiener Schnitzel and a couple of coffee drinks. The total bill was 33 Euros so not cheap but compared to some of the other... More

The red deer goulash and the farmers plate was traditional hearty German fare. The real surprise was the salad - large and colorful with a variety of veggies and an excellent ranch dressing with a light tomato flavor. Service was very attentive and spoke good English. We got there after 7:30 pm but it was still busy, the food was... More

I appreciated having vegetarian choices! I had a pasta dish and it was quite good. The Apfelstrudel was also good.

The food was just average. Lacked any real flavor. It's a tourist place so it doesn't matter if it's good or not. Go somewhere else for less money.

After driving 900 miles from London in one sitting my girlfriend and I were hoping for some real Bavarian cuisine. The menu was great, with all the sorts of foods that we wanted, but unfortunately the quality of the food just seemed lazy. For example, my girlfriend has some potato wedges, which you can buy from the local supermarket and... More

The restaurant offers a good selection of local cuisine (Bavarian) for reasonable prices. However, if for some reasons you'd like to have something light, it is also possible (chicken breast with vegetables and rice was excellent). Most of the food is somewhat heavy but it's a common characteristic for Bavarian cuisine. So, not for those with a sensitive stomac. Otherwise,... More

This restaurant offers both German and some Italian food. We had the Gulasch and the Curry wurst. Both were very reasonably priced. The Gulasch was excellent. The soup was very well balanced and seasoned. The bread was very fresh. My husband loved the Curry wurst sauce so this was a winner for him (he is German so a bit picky... More
