High end, fresh, delicious and hospitable.

We live in Garmisch and often enjoy the lovely restaurants here. Koch's has been off our radar, but after our first visit we will definitely return. Small place, family run with a limited menu of fresh locally sourced foods. You can order multi course menus or a la carte. Three choices of mains, a... read more

We were very much looking forward to our dinner here, but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. Very slow service, after 2.5 hours we were 2 courses into the (compulsory) 4 course set menu, and our kids were literally falling asleep. When I asked to skip 3rd course and go to dessert, was advised that it is... More

We didn't think it was possible to have a better meal & experience than we had over the previous 3 nights, but Koch's pulled it off. We went with the 5 course option because we didn't think we could finish all 7, and we were right! Wonderful flavors, beautiful/artistic presentations, and personal, friendly service! We met our servers' son Ludvig... More

Had some hesitation about it since I saw some warning sign reviews. Long time for a meal--4 hours--and that was for mostly 3 course meals in our albeit large group. Only one server, who was pleasant enough and happy to translate, but clearly overworked. Mixed reviews on the meals. Had to wait the better part of an hour for even... More

Went here for a date. The food is designed beautifully but the atmosphere doesn't quite match. It looks like a regular place to get food. I loved the food presentation but admittedly the food didn't taste as good as it looked. It tasted good but not mouthwatering like I expected. Still a great place for dinner. I ordered venison which... More

Garmisch-Partenkirchen has a wealth of fabulous restaurants, but this is my favorite. The food is unbelievable. Fresh, seasonal, creative gourmet while still being down-to-earth and comforting...just a truly phenomenal cook. The atmosphere is small and intimate, but friendly in the German way with tables very close together. The staff is wonderful. All around Koch's goes above and beyond. If you... More

Went for our anniversary and brought our 9-month old son along and the chef and his staff were so friendly through the glass constantly waving at him and making funny faces. Not the normal behavior of Germans, #1, and not the normal snobbish attitude from a high-end restaurant owner/chef, #2. The food was marvelous! Everything we had...the food (my husband... More

My husband and I dined at Koch's tonight. We didn't have reservations and the woman at the front was more than accommodating to us nonetheless. The ambiance is intimate, small, and just very comfortable. Our waitress was on her A game! She was went above and beyond to make sure our experience was unlike what we had had so far... More

We had a wonderful dinner at this small family restaurant in GP this past Sunday night. We went for the four course tasting menu, which we paired with an amazing Gruner and then a Sauvignon Blanc. The highlight was the saddle of rabbit over hand made gnocchi. It just melted in our mouths. The quality and precision is what you... More

We stayed at another hotel with a restaurant that had no reservations. The bartender recommended Koch's. Great food and service.
