Food was mediocre. Perch excellent. Portions were smaller than expected. More expensive than expected. German boys dancing a nice treat. Typical German seating. Quick service. Desserts looked good.

This place was recommended by the tourist info, but it was not exceptional. The beer was quite good. they have quite different food choices, we tried fish calbhaxe, and roasted knodel which were average.

Restaurant was recommend by a friend and we were so glad we stopped in. Probably should have made a reservation, but we were lucky and found a table. If not, don't be shy, sit with others, as this is typical in Germany. The food was delicious and everyone was having a great time and portion size was large. A live... More

A total tourist trap, evident in the fact that there are two seating times for dinner. The customer service is horrible, the food mediocre, and you feel rushed through dinner. As long time residents of Garmisch, we know tourists love this place. Such a pitty because there are better restaurants. If you want the Schuplatter dancing, head down the street... More

If you'd like to experience some Tyrolean folk music with your dinner, this is the place. Make sure to get there (or make reservation) for 1800 or later. The music starts about 1900 with a singer and/or accordion player and a guitar player (depending on who's playing that night). A pair of boys will come out to dance around 1930.... More

Charming old school place to have a beer in old town on the sidewalk. Obviously frequented by locals as well as tourists. Enjoyed some beers, pretzels and cold cuts.

Usually I never eat at the same place twice because I want to experience as much as I can when I travel. I made an exception for Fraundorfer. This was a fun place to eat. The atmosphere was just what I would expect when eating in Bavaria. The food was great, the service was exceptional, and the family feel made... More

We had a great time and great food! Make reservations if eating later... it was very crowded- but we did have a large group celebrating something (not sure what but included a lot of beer and singing!) The food is authentic German and delicious. I highly recommend the port knuckle! The entertainment and atmosphere is what makes this place a... More

We recently went to Fraundorfer on a recommendation from friends. While the food isn't anything spectacular (it's good, but it's not the best food I've ever had), the real fun was in the atmosphere and the entertainment. Be sure not to arrive too early: we arrived at 5:30 PM and were a bit too early for the entertainment. The place... More
