If you want to enjoy a good bavarian meal while having the whole Berchtesgaden on your plate then Hochlenzer is definetely the place to visit. Tasty food, huge portions and a really great view, especially during sundown. Maybe a good idea for a closing of your holiday in Berchtesgaden.

Absolutely spectacular, gorgeous, awe-inspiring view. Food was fair to good, but nothing problematic - it's the view that really makes this place. Spectacular

Located on the Obersalzberg a short drive from town, this restaurant is a favorite with locals due to the sunny view of the Berchtesgaden valley below. You have to watch for the sign carefully as the restaurant is down a small private road from the main roadway and easy to miss. The food served here is traditional Bavarian comfort food.... More

Great service and great food. Will do special diet needs. Nothing we disliked. Clean and tasty food, like fresh from the garden.

This place is a little out of the way, but not only is the drive an experience, you owe yourself this meal and this view before you die. It is an absolute must to go on a clear day - the view is breathtaking. Sit outside. Go early, because you will find the place closed in the early evening. The... More

Everytime we go to Berchtesgaden, we return with pleasure to the Hochlenzer (it was also Hitlers favourite place, as they still show on a picture on a discreter location inside). They have good food and delicious bavarian coffee with icecream and whipped cream, served in very large white and blue cups (the Bavarian colours, of course). During winter time, it... More

We were recommended the Alpengasthof Hochlenzer as one of few good dining options in the region. The drive to the guesthouse can be a little white-knuckle if you're not good with heights - but the views here are spectacular. The guesthouse is also located on one of the main walking paths (Carl von Linde Weg) that can be started at... More

This is the best view available when the Eagle's Nest is yet closed for the season. You want this view! I had pork fillet with mushroom sauce and pork fillet with pepper sauce. Both plates came cooked to perfection and the sauces were very satisfying. Each came with a hash brown. It was a simple preparation but perfectly executed. Good... More
